I'm looking to see if there is a way to retrieve Storyline file from a published zip file for the purpose of editing. I found this reply in discussions from 10 years ago: Unfortunately there isn't a way to extract a .story file from the published output. You'll need to access the original .story file to edit the courses. Is this still the case?
That is correct. Think of the published output as an already baked cake. You can no longer extract the cake's original ingredients (the Story file).
Recently, Articulate added the option to upload the .Story file to Review 360 when you publish for Review, allowing you to download the story file if ever lost.
But that will not be helpful for older existing projects.
But if you have published to review you may have a copy on there
