Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community! ✨ I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue when creating a layer. I'm happy to help troubleshoot!

First, click on the slide that you would like to add the layer to. There are two ways to add a layer:

1. Click the New Layer icon (looks like a blank piece of paper) in the Slide Layers panel.
2. Or, go to the Insert tab on the ribbon and click Slide Layer.

You also mentioned you don't see the space to create a layer. Is it possible that you undocked the layer panel? If this is the case, you can click the redock button in the top right corner of the panel, as shown here:

Or, you can navigate to the Insert tab, and select Redock All Windows.
