Create a Trigger that Changes the State of the Next Button After Multiple Layers are Selected

Hi all,

I'm having trouble finding a solution to the problem I'm trying to solve, so I hope you can point me in the right direction or provide the answer.

I have a question in a StoryLine 360 quiz that requires the learner to select multiple answers, each with its own layer (there are four layers).  The base layer is configured to change the state of the NEXT button to "Hidden" when the timeline begins. I need to change the state of the NEXT button to "Normal" only after all four layers have been selected.

I've attached the relevant slide for reference.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Laura Ann

  • Thanks for the response.  There was an attachment, but I'm not sure what happened.

I was able to resolve this issue.

    SOLUTION:

    1. Create a new “Selected” for each button on the base layer
    2. Create trigger “Change state of NEXT button to Normal when the state of all of (Rectangles . . . ) See image of trigger set-up attached.

Some of your description makes me think it's a multiple-response question slide. But other parts don't, such as using the Next button (not Submit). And I'm not sure why each response has its own layer that must be viewed. That sound more like a tab interaction.

In any case, this post and its demo file should help: TIP: Controlling the NEXT Button 101 | Articulate - Community

By the way, this Exchange Best Practice section is for general questions about eLearning. You’re asking how to do something in Storyline. That type of question is a better fit in the Discuss Articulate Products section of the website. That's where those of us who regularly answer questions about how to use the software spend more of our time. And that's where more folks go to search for answers.
