Hi folks. I've just come across the same issue. It seems that you need to go into the quiz and delete each question. Once you have done that you can go back to the main menu/table of contents and then the "Delete" option is available.
You do not need to delete every quiz question to delete a quiz lesson. Simply click the three dots to the right of the lesson, and select Delete.
If you're still having trouble, try this:
Add a new lesson in your course called "Quiz".
Click Add Content and select Quiz.
This will insert a sample quiz with 2 questions. Click the back arrow to go back to the main course menu.
Click the three dots to the right of the quiz lesson, and select Delete.
Interesting.
Alyssa is right that when I create a new quiz it can be deleted without the need to delete the questions first.
However, the fact remains that on the quiz I created earlier the delete option was not available until I deleted the questions in the quiz. I haven't been able to recreate this bug with the new quiz I created so I'm not sure it if relates to a particular configuration of the settings for the quiz, the quiz questions or is a browser caching issue.
Thanks for letting me know you're not seeing the issue when deleting a new quiz. I agree that it could be a browser caching issue – please let us know if you run into this again!
Yes, you will see two different hand styles one that looks like it's going to move. Then just slightly roll the mouse up and it will change to a pointing finger on a hand.
This needs some UX work. Really hard to detect. If you drag your mouse up the icons, the cursor actually flickers between the hand and the finger. I think the target neds to be bigger.
Wow does this need work. I have spent way too much time trying to get the mouse to shift to the arrow to delete. Can someone advise, as I am still holding onto content that will not allow me to remove
Thanks for the specifics you provided, Treena. I simply could not access to delete function after hovering or clicking on 3 dots until you differentiated between the hand with a pointing finger!
I am having the exact same problem. I have spent over a 1/2 hour trying to find the "magic spot" to get the pointing finger to appear. This is not an efficient use of my time, and my wrist is starting to ache. This is definitely an area of opportunity. It shouldn't be that hard...
I couldn't get the ... options to appear at all in Chrome 96, but when I switched to Firefox 94 it worked as expected - but only the FIRST time. Arrggghh.
Sorry to hear that you can't get the ... options to appear, Julie! Can you try accessing Rise in Incognito or InPrivate window? Pressing Ctrl + Shift + n for Windows, or Press ⌘ + Shift + n for Mac switches you to Incognito mode and disables all browser plugins. Sometimes plugins cause odd behavior.
If the issue persists, please take a video of what's happening and then open a case with us here!
I repeatedly encounter this problem - only 3 options display on the drop down. The "sweet spot" to get the mouse to change from hand to pointer is challenging. I spend a tremendous amount on this simply requirement - trying to delete a lesson, or trying to delete a quiz. Same issue no matter which "type". Same issue whether using my fancy "precision" mouse, or my inexpensive "wired" mouse. Frustrating - it should not be this difficult. Happens on multiple courses created.
If none of these options work, please open a support case using this form, and one of our customer support engineers will work with you directly to troubleshoot this issue.

Hi Laura,
Thanks for your question!
To delete a lesson, hover over the lesson, click the three dots that appear to the right, and then click Delete.
Watch this quick GIF to see deleting a lesson in action.
Please reach out if I can help with anything else!
This works for Lessons, but how to you delete a quiz? There is no delete option on the drop down menu.
You should see a 4th option Delete on the drop-down.
I agree. Indeed there is a fourth option to delete a lesson.
I should have started a new thread devoted to quiz blocks. As you see in the image there is no option to delete a QUIZ. That's what I need to do.

I guess this is an extra layer of protection.
I hope that helps.
Kind regards

Not sure why you are not seeing the delete button.
It is always available for me without having to first delete the questions.

I was able to get that missing delete option to show up. I had to toggle between preview and edit. Once it appeared, I zapped it. Problem solved.

Hi Stefanie,
It sounds like Rise 360 isn't letting you delete lessons. That definitely shouldn't happen, so let's look at this a little closer.

A year late, but I second this comment. The target for the three dots is so small that it's very difficult to hit them and get the menu to display.

Hi Julie,
I use Chrome 96 and have no problems getting the ... options to appear.
