Emoji appearing as outlines in Chrome when using Rise

Jan 05, 2022

Hi there,

I've noticed that emoji are appearing as outlines in headings when working in Rise with Google Chrome. It seems it only occurs if the text is of a certain thickness as well (see screenshot). Is there a way to make sure they appear in full color like before?

I wonder if this is occurring because of the change described in this article: https://dev.to/inhuofficial/chrome-changed-emojis-in-headings-a-workaround-if-you-want-normal-emojis-again-4n4o

Hi Sara,

Thanks for pointing this out. It may depend on how you're inserting the emoji into your content. I was able to use an emoji copied from a Google Doc (on a Mac in Chrome) in my course title, lesson title, and text block heading without any loss of formatting.

But I love that article you shared - very helpful for other folks!
