Request/idea for future release: could you enable the addition of a poster frame to videos in Rise? It would add a level of polish to the videos. I know that I can add images manually to the beginning of the video files, but it's a clunky process.
I second that emotion. Thumbs up for the ability to add video poster images. I am using iframes as a workaround but they don't fill the screen as nicely as the videos by themselves.
As I mentioned over this in this thread, I've addd your voice to that feature request. You're now subscribed to this thread, so I'll share any updates on that with you here.
Any update on this feature to add a poster frame/poster image to a rise mp4 video. This request is pending for last 2 years. Could this feature can release soon next by Articulate.
There isn't a way to set the poster frame for a video in Rise 360 right now. The first frame of the video will display by default. If we add that feature in the future, we'll let you know!
Placeholder images for videos in Rise would be a simple and hugely welcome addition. Right now my videos (edited in Camtasia) are not displaying an image at all - just a black screen which is poor visually.
Thanks for letting us know what you'd like to see! Right now, Rise 360 will display the first frame of the video as the poster frame. If you see a black screen, you can use a video editing tool to trim the beginning of the video and remove the back opening frame.
Still not seeing this feature in Rise and I think it would be a very welcome addition (certainly I would like to see it). Please keep me updated if this feature is at least on your road map. Editing every video just to have a different poster frame is a time-consuming task. Thanks, team.
I totally agree, it seems weird not to have a simple option to choose a poster frame different from the 1. frame i the uploaded video. It is much needed!
Hi folks, we really appreciate you voicing your need for this feature! It's not something on our roadmap right now, but we'll let you know if that changes.
Could you say why it isn't on the roadmap, when it's been asked for such a lot, this is the second thread I found about it. If you told us why it is too hard to do, people may be more accepting. I am in the first half hour of a trial and found this sort of thread for the first query I came up against..... it's bringing doubts.
Even the ability to upload a separate image file to act as the poster frame would be good. A setting to select between first frame or uploaded PF. I have a fade from white video which I'm now doctoring with a frame export to include it as the first frame only and then re-encode the video.

Thanks, Edward, for sharing your idea, and for incidentally including a workaround for folks who come across this discussion.
We track the impact a requested feature has on our customers, so I appreciate you sharing your voice.
Being able to set a poster frame would be really good!

Thanks, Magda. We'll keep you posted if this feature is added to Rise!
Any updates on this feature being added? It would be a very welcome enhancement!
Thanks, Nadine. No updates yet but we'll keep you posted here if this feature is added to Rise!

Seems crazy not to have this feature yet.

any update for this 3 years old feature request?
This feature is very much needed to improve the experience of the course participants. Looking forward to it.
Would love to see a near term timeframe for this feature to be included - the ability to simply change the first frame of a video with a still image.
This remains a big frustration with Rise and a significant time waster.
Any progress in this matter of Poster frame for videos in Rise 360? Can we see this happen during 2021 please, it's really crucial.
