I Built a Japanese Course So I Can Find a Bathroom in Osaka
My son moved to Japan. We visit in March, and I did not want to be the woman standing in a train station pointing at things and hoping.
So I did what we all do with a personal problem. I turned it into a course. đ
It is five Code Blocks and forty-five phrases, and I want to be honest about the scope: this is not a Japanese course. You will not be fluent. You will not be having conversations. You will still be pointing at things sometimes. What you get is enough to find a bathroom, get on the right train, order food, and be polite while you do it.

This is so fun SMcNicolâ! I feel like this format could be reused for lots of things, too.
Obviously, traveling to other places, but also it could be a need to know before an event, a crash course on a hobby, like knowing enough lingo before football season starts, etc.
We are going to share this in an upcoming Weekly Newsletter. I think it will inspire people to use this format in other ways!

Simple UX thing I found so pleasing I had to compliment you: I needed to hear the Japanese word 15 times (roughly) before I started to really understand the pronunciation. Your UX made it so easy to hear the word over and over and over. Regular speed or slow. Fantastic.
