Safe Pilot: A game with parallax effect
Hi All,
Designed this game for fun. Wanted to have something on parallax effect. Did some voice overs and animation from scratch (will have rough edges 😁). Play it using the arrow keys and have fun!

Doing a short testing, the keys are much slower than the birds.

Hi Cecile, thanks for testing, hope you liked the overall idea. The speed of the biplane is kept slow to stay true to its performance and also to make it challenging, else landing this plane would be very easy. 😁
Thanks once again for taking the time, appreciate it.
Love this, KartikKuttan — reminds me a lot of RaphaelSymons recent side-scroller game he shared here.
I agree with CecileWight that the scrolling of the plane feels a touch slow in comparison to the speed of the birds, but I also hear your point that if you made it too fast, it would be too easy. Wonder if there is a good middle ground.
Curious, how do you see a game like this playing into a learning experience? What are some of the contexts you imagine using this in to reinforce a learning outcome?- KartikKuttanCommunity Member
Hi Noele,
Thank you for taking the time to review. Speed change can be moderated for sure.
About the learning experience, I created this game as a mind refresher for the organization, especially for projects with restricted internet access, more like a 'Digital Fun Friday'. But come to think of it, some of the ways to add learning attributes to this could include.
- While completing certain lengths of the game, add pop ups with info.
- Anytime the bird collides. (provide more info about the bird/ projectile - you may change the specifics)
- Also, I think that such games help challenge the player's overall observation.
For the benefit of the players struggling to complete, I have added a cheat sheet in the form of a .gif file. 😇
