Storyline: 8-Bit Game-Inspired Example
Think liability is a dry topic that’s sure to put learners to sleep? Think again! This 8-bit game-inspired example looks and feels so much like a video game, you might actually forget you’re learnin...

Wow, this is great.
The animation/movement is very smooth. Did you create this first as an SWF? or was the animation converted to video? or was it from Storyline?
Also, did you create the GIF from scratch? and what tool did you use to compile the GIF? and what tool did you use for creating the GIF.
Sorry for asking alot of questions but this work is such an inspiration.
I have been looking for a great idea on how to incorporate games/entertainment and lessons. And this is a perfect sample/idea.

- Jonathan_Hill4 years agoSuper HeroThanks Steve. This is a Frakenstein's monster of CC0 game assets, that I cobbled together into this game. It's amazing what you can find if you shop around!
I can't share this master file, but another of my demos uses the same animation techniques.

You can also download a copy of the master file from this page, to see how it works. The layering and animation triggers use the same approach as the Indemnity Jones example.
TL;DR it's state changes and motion paths and the 'idle' and 'run' character states are repeating GIFs.

- Jonathan_Hill4 years agoSuper HeroNo probs Steve. As it happens, I will be running a session on how to build a retro game like this at the Articulate User Conference at this year's DevLearn in Las Vegas.
