Horizontal Scrolling Panel in Storyline

Feature Request:
Please consider adding support for horizontal scrolling panels in Articulate Storyline.

Why This Matters:
Currently, Storyline only supports vertical scrolling using the built-in scrolling panel. However, many modern e-learning designs require horizontal scrolling—especially for content like timelines, wide infographics, comparison charts, or interactive galleries. Without native support, designers must rely on complex workarounds using motion paths or drag-and-drop interactions, which can be time-consuming and less intuitive for learners.

Suggested Implementation:

  • Add an option to toggle between vertical and horizontal scrolling in the scrolling panel properties.
  • Allow horizontal scrollbars to appear when content exceeds the width of the panel.

Benefits:

  • Enhances design flexibility.
  • Reduces development time.
  • Improves user experience with smoother, more intuitive navigation.

Thank you for considering this enhancement—it would be a valuable addition for instructional designers and developers!

  • I've devised a new method until we get this.
