Articulate 360
22 TopicsPlease Add Universal Continue Button Settings or Override for Rise
Courses I support use restricted navigation in the Articulate Rise materials I create for them. While necessary for the students, continue buttons that require completion of prior interactions are very cumbersome for the SMEs when they review the Articulate assignments. I can toggle Restricted Navigation off before publishing to Articulate Review, which helps the SMEs a little, but within a lesson/section, the issue with restricted continue buttons remains. It would be brilliant to have a Continue Button Override checkbox we could turn on when publishing to Review, either greying them out or making all of them unlocked. This would allow collaborators to review projects without needing to complete every interaction.4Views0likes0CommentsCustom Animation tool for Storyline
Hello Community! I need to post more here 😃. Just presented at the Articulate UserConference (2024). I shared a tool I built to generate custom JavaScript snippets to get custom GSAP (GreenSock) animations in Storyline. Here is my blog post about it and link to the tool. Link to Tool: https://learningdojo.ninja/javascript-snippets/gsap/ Hope it helps!13Views0likes0CommentsRequest: Make the spacebar immediately default to function as pause/play during playback.
Maybe I've missed something, but from what I've found so far, during SL playback, the user has to hit the Tab key twice in order for the spacebar to pause/play. Or they can use Ctrl+Alt+P.It would be more intuitive if the spacebar functions as pause/play as soon as an A/V track (timeline) begins playing (without the user having to do anything else first, and without the developer having to create triggers on every slide). Another default that would be intuitive would be to make the left/right arrow keys = Previous/Next slide. Thank you 🙂9Views1like0CommentsInline images in Rise
Being able to add inline images in paragraphs, tab interactions, and accordions: Only allowing for images at the bottom of the tab or accordion can sometimes make it difficult to really tell a story or show a process. And on that same note, being able to include more than one image per would be extremely helpful!15Views3likes1CommentResponsive Blocked Continue Button
We often use Rise 360 for compliance courses. At the end of the course, there's typically an acknowledgement section - where there's statements with a check box block and then a continue button block below that unlocks when the user clicks on the checkboxes. However, we've noticed that if you click a box and then unclick it, the continue button stays unlocked. I know we could do a workaround of creating a Storyline block with the acknowledgement and some variables ensuring they actually acknowledge it. Would it be possible to have a responsive continue button? So, if a user unclicks a box - it locks the continue button again.5Views0likes0CommentsMoving volume control to the left
The volume slider on the right side of the search bar always gets in the way of custom buttons at the bottom right (see attached image). It would be great to have the volume control on the left side of the search bar, where it is less distracting.4Views0likes0CommentsAdd different workspace/layouts to the editor
Having different workspace similar to how adobe/blender/davinci resolve, unreal engine etc, structure their software would be a great help. I would suggest: An editing/designing workspace for adding content and graphics to slides This would have the timeline to the right of the editor as mentioned before to make it clearer what was in place and how the layers were structured. An animation workspace This could dock the timeline at the bottom but move the layers and slides panels up allowing it to take up the full width of the editor. A triggers workspace This would give more real estate to the trigger editor to make information easier to parse. This could be achieved by making the slides panel collapsable. I know everyone's workflow is different and even mine differs slightly from project to project, but I often find myself wanting more space to work on particular aspects of a document. The storyline editor is a bit cramped. I often find myself wishing the timeline had more verticality or the trigger editor had a bit more space. The current solution is to pop-out and resize elements of the editor, but they then end up on top of other things and they don't snap to anywhere leaving the workspace feeling cluttered. Further to this, if you want to work on a different aspect of the project, you then have to resize all the pop-out windows. Workspaces would allow you to flick back and forth easily, saving time and mental effort. For example, when I'm adding my content to a slide the space taken up by the timeline, triggers, and now also the AI tab really takes away my real estate for viewing the slide. If I could dock the timeline on the right-hand side with the triggers, layers, and AI panel I would be able to see more of what is actually on my slide and the timeline would feel less like clutter. Another bugbear of mine is if you are having trouble selecting something due to overlapping elements on the slide, selecting it from the timeline is the best way to go. but the timeline only shows 3 or 4 elements at a time and is difficult to scroll. my suggested editor workspace would resolve that issue and give you more space to work on the slide.1View0likes0CommentsText to Speech Narration Visible on Timeline
I'm not sure if anyone else develops this way in their modules, but I often have content on the slide that I want to appear or disappear based on what the narration is saying. As such, what I currently do to time it just right is look for pauses in the audio wave image on the Text-to-Speech timeline and take a guess; then, almost every single time, need to adjust. It would make it so much more simple if in addition to - or even in place of - the audio wave image, the narration text was visible on the timeline, too. In the attached image, I might want to have a chimpanzee slowly turn into a monkey, or disappear and the monkey appear in transition. Followed up with something spray painting vegetables. (Pardon the choice of song lyrics) While I currently look at the pauses, the included text would make it far simpler to do.4Views0likes0CommentsAdd more options to Shape Styles and Color Themes
Hello everyone, I write here an idea about improving the options we already have when using Shape styles and Color themes. Basically, presets exist where it uses "Light 1 Outline, Colored Fill - Accent 1", but what if I want to use "Dark 1 Outline, Colored Fill - Accent 1" ? Actually, I have to add the "correct" border color manually... and if I change color theme, then I have to redo it again with the new color (since the border is not changing with the theme). So either I do something wrong, or it would be nice to have maybe some ways to change this tab to define "I want this mix of color" instead of the actual presets.7Views0likes0Comments
