Truly Embed Storyline Blocks
I really enjoy the Storyline Block feature in Rise.
Wouldn't it be cool to really really embed Storyline Blocks into Rise?
What i mean is that if you would update a piece of Storyline in the review section it would also actually be updated to the Rise Course(s) anywhere referring to.
This would mean we don't have to:
- Update Rise course(s)
- Publish it to Scorm(s)
- Update the Scorm(s) in the LMS
And thus save a lot of effort.
It's kind of like a Vimeo based solution embedded into a rise course but then with interactivity included.
I tried a possible workaround by using the embed function in Rise, adding a link to the preview but that doesn't work. Maybe there is another option i could try?
Until then i hope that more people need this an that it would be adopted as added functionality!
Thanks,
Peter

I don't tend to need to share Storylines in multiple rise courses but it would be so much better if when published to Review360, it also updated any Rise courses (if you selected to do so, as there may be cases where updating immediately is not wanted).

I saw on the roadmap that they are working on custom blocks in Rise 360 that have their own triggers, states, etc. which hopefully means I don't ever have to boot up my Windows VM to use Storyline in the future, but yeah, I really would like better integration with Storyline in the meantime.

I frequently use Storyline blocks in Rise and I wonder why on tablet and mobile we view this very black ugly block to click (like it is a video, which it is not) before we can interact with it. It would help if we could change the color and get rid of the file name and customize the 'play' button. If there is a way to do this I am unaware of, I would love to know.
But on the whole, integration of Storyline blocks in Rise could definitely a bit smoother!

I've previously raised this with Articulate support.
Storyline blocks with any media (video or audio) on the first slide will not autoplay and show a black screen with a play button. The black screen itself is not editable, so choosing a light player theme will not impact it. It works this way as web browsers prevent autoplay when media is present.
One workaround would be to add a cover photo. Go to the player settings and select a cover photo on the left-hand side. You can choose to use an image of the first slide as a cover photo.- WilmaKannegi256Community Member
Thanks, that is very helpful! (never noticed this cover photo option!)
At least it looks a little better this way! Btw this does not only occur with blocks with media, but also with slides and drag and drop interactions. But I am sure the workaround will help me here too.
