Hi. In my course, the user passes the final quizz (the Results slides opens the Approved layer, etc). In this layer there´s a button leading to the closing slide, which has a trigger "When timeline starts, complete course". I´ve tried both Complete/Passed and Incomplete/failed, but ScormCloud reports this. Satisfaction should say Passed, as logic says! What settings do I need? Or which trigger? Other settings in my file are the following (sorry it´s in Spanish): I'm going crazy. There are many settings and options. What´s the combination that gives me the report I need? Is it a Scorm2004 issue? (That´s the standard my client wants). Thanks (this is the least enjoyable part of creating a course. In other aspects, using Storyline is a pleasure)Help with tracking and reporting status, scores and completion
Hi everyone. I have a course with Scorm 2004 3rd edition. It has pretest, content and postest. My client wants that if the learner approves the pretest, the LMS marks "approved" and the score, but not "complete", because there are two more content slides to read and once read, now ths course is "complete". If the learner fails the pretest, he has to review several slides, pass the postest in 3 opportunities marking approved and the score, but not complete because he also needs to review the final two extra slides. What publishing configurations do you reccomend? Do I need more triggers? I know this is very specific, but there are many parameters and I am confused and maybe there are efficient ways to do it. Thank you.41Views0likes2CommentsHardening Storyline 360 Courses Against Client-Side Completion/Score Manipulation
Hi Community, We’ve identified a case where a learner manipulated client-side browser tools to force course completion and a passing score in a SCORM package built with Articulate Storyline 360. I understand SCORM communication is inherently client-side, but I’m looking for best-practice mitigation strategies, such as: Gating LMS commit/score submission until final quiz pass Centralizing and controlling when completion/status is set Recommended LMS-side completion rules (e.g., result-slide–driven completion) Methods for detecting or flagging abnormal completion behavior Any practical patterns or examples that significantly raise the barrier against this type of manipulation would be appreciated. Thanks!Meet the Extinguisher Fire Safety Squad
We recently created this course for E-Learning Challenge #539, exploring how everyday objects can be brought to life through learning design. Meet the Extinguisher Fire Safety Squad brings fire extinguishers to life through custom eLearning—guiding learners step by step through the correct use of extinguishers during fire emergencies, all within an engaging, gamified environment. Built as a scenario-based, interactive learning experience, this course helps organisations: Build awareness of how to respond quickly and safely during a workplace fire Learn the correct steps to use a fire extinguisher with confidence Strengthen decision-making skills under pressure Learners don’t just watch—they learn in realistic fire scenarios. View the eLearning sample in action: https://www.swiftelearningservices.com/fire-extinguisher-safety-training-custom-elearning/ We’d love your feedback: We’re looking to evolve this fire safety course even further. From an Articulate Storyline 360 design perspective, what would you add or improve to make the experience more immersive and help learners feel confident and prepared during a real fire emergency?31Views0likes0CommentsHow do Storyline beginners overcomplicate course building?
What do beginners tend to overcomplicate when building courses with Storyline? Storyline is powerful, and new users can feel overwhelmed when they first jump in. They see polished examples on E-Learning Heroes, read “tips and tricks” blog posts, and spelunk the depths of r/InstructionalDesign to learn what Storyline can do. Armed with all that knowledge, it’s easy to start reaching for every bell and whistle, while overlooking the simpler tools that are already right there. Here are some examples I see from time to time: Using complicated show/hide trigger toggles with multiple objects instead of simply creating custom states on a single object. Endlessly nudging object positions on the timeline instead of using cue points or trigger events like “When media completes.” Adding loads of animations without stopping to ask how they actually help the learner understand anything. Sometimes less really is more. Jumping straight into using advanced concepts like variables and custom JavaScript when simpler, built-in options could achieve the same outcome. Most great courses start kind of boring. One slide. One interaction. One clear outcome. Then you layer in complexity only where it earns its keep. If you’re experienced with Storyline, I’m curious: What do you see beginners overcomplicating the most? What’s the one thing you wish someone had told you earlier? And if you’re newer to Storyline, this is a safe space. What feels harder than you think it should? Let’s compare notes.202Views2likes7CommentsStoryline Design: Phishing Simulation Demo
I just launched a phishing simulation that's getting some great feedback and I wanted to share it out here. Instead of using imagery that focus on the level of potential risk (hackers, broken computers, etc.), I designed the course's graphics and interactions to be a more positive experience than other IT security courses I've seen. It's the difference between designing around a scarcity mindset versus an abundance mindset. The training adopts a coaching tone to highlight common strategies to look for in phishing attempts. Here's the link: Phishing Simulation Sample Is anyone else out there building compliance courses with delight and engaging visuals at the forefront? I'd love any feedback you may have!1.1KViews0likes38CommentsMenu still shows even after unchecked
The menu is still showing up in some slides even though I unchecked it in the Player Controls in the Player Settings. I had to uncheck the menu within the settings of the individual slides. I don't have an example to show you since our materials are confidential. Any help would be welcomed.Rise Block background Help
Hi All I normally live in Storyline and don't use rise too much due to the nature of my work so wondered if anyone can help. - I can't find the answer searching. I want to create Rise block with backgrounds that seamlessly flow into each other. Problem I am having is the backgrounds rescaling and adjusting so my alignments are warped etc. Has anyone found a way this can be done - I'm also conscious that with mobile devices this may affect accessibility- any guidance would be appreciated. I've attached a screenshot of 2 example artboards I was using to test this.36Views1like0CommentsRise vs Mighty Maestro
Hello. Due to the need for rapid development, Rise is now a staple for us vs Storyline. However, no one wants the generic Rise look and feel anymore. Does Articulate have plans to introduce features that Mighty Maestro is offering? These should be standard, and users should not have to purchase a separate plug-in for this functionality.597Views4likes8Comments
