Introducing the Articulate Beta Program

We’re committed to delivering you more value, more often—which is why we’re excited to introduce Articulate’s new beta program! Here’s what you need to know.

What Is It?

The beta program gives you—our customers—the chance to explore and offer feedback on experimental features across Articulate 360 apps. That way, you can help shape and enhance these features to truly fit your needs.

How Do I Participate?

If you have an Articulate 360 account, you’re automatically included in this new program! We’ll add beta features to our apps during updates and mark them with a Beta badge. From there, simply try them out and give us feedback via in-app surveys or in our E-Learning Heroes community.

If you’ve been paying close attention, you might have noticed that we already have a few beta features:

Team Folders in Review 360—lets multiple authors publish a course to the same Review 360 link, so you never lose track of your comments.
Request Review—allows users to request and track reviews all within Review 360.
Integrated comments—lets reviewers browse, reply, and resolve feedback directly in Storyline 360 and Rise 360.

Note that since features in beta are still evolving, they’re subject to changes in scope, pricing, and packaging, or discontinuation.

Interesting, So, let me see if I have this correct. Feature requests, which are still, after 5 years, are still waiting to be prioritised, have not been looked at and are shelved in favour of feedback that is already available in the forums. I'm sorry, but this seems like a waste of money and time to me. Was this a serious consideration by management or a lucky dip?

Scraping feedback from forums is not as easy as it sounds given how much feedback there is to sift through and the mix of topics covered in one post. Surveys tend to allow for more focused data collection while keeping responses confidential.

You are absolutely right. But it would still be nice if more insight were provided. It is sometimes difficult to understand why basic functionalities that are apparently easy to implement are left on the shelf. While functionalities that really seem less important are in new releases.

Well it definitely sounds extremely easy and simple when every single thread that's 5+ years old ends up with a Articulate employee going "thank you for your suggestion, we've added this feature for the future" or some empty sentence like that, when nothing ever changes. I've been using Articulate professionally for about 5 years now, and not a single one of the features i've seen them say "we'll add it" have been added. But then we have new features like integrated Review comments, which are honestly really amazing and work really well but it's fixing a problem that never existed. Review comments work perfectly as they are now, and there's no need to add them ON the app. just wasting resources to be honest. Stuff like project breaking bugs, translations are finnicky, a lot ... My guess is your not familiar with forum feedback. Each thread has a topic. Most of the topics state the problem in the subject and following is a list of requests from many other Articulate uses who also would like the feature. Also its not that difficult to get an AI to do the search and summarising for you. So, Pano, unfortunately your answer is not addressing the issue here. its actually side stepping it, but thanks for the input.

I actually don't read much frustration in Martin's response, but rather a critical tone. That's not a problem, is it? I know many Articulate users and they are just as critical. What I do read is a question. But I don't see the answer to that.

I agree. As much as I respect the Articulate team and staff, and I do appreciate the new features, it's frustrating to see some five-year-old plus bugs still present in the program. I understand these features probably need less development time, but it doesn't seem like their priorities are aligned with what us end users would like to see.

Alison, IF you where handling it at all that would be a good comment to make. No not frustrated, I just don't like companies that lie, nore do I like people that comment on something they do not have an understanding of or the companies policies. Alison, please take the time to go read and understand your processes your company has laid down. You will then see they are prioritising there own new features rather than getting the faulty ones to work. PS there is no frustration or anger here, just bewilderment that management incompetence that they are not following there own rules.

This will be an ongoing program - we will continue to release Beta features that require additional validation and customer feedback to make sure we are building the right things. Features will stay in beta until we're confident they fit customer needs and appropriate adjustments have been made to reach this point. This could mean a couple weeks or several months. We don't expect things to be in Beta for many months or years, but can't give exact timelines as each feature will be different. In some rare cases, it might be clear that the feature doesn't fit and needs to be removed from the product.

This is truly exciting! I can hardly wait to discover the new offerings that will be available. If I may take a brief moment to digress from the current topic, I would like to express my sincere desire for the option to download Storyline 360 on Mac devices. Is there an opportunity to add Text to Speech feature with an AI Voice? In addition, create videos from the content library in Rise 360?

I am on board totally with Donnisha Boyd! With how much AI & eLearning is evolving the current text to speech doesn't cut it anymore. It sounds way too robotic. Personally, I really like the way MURF.AI voices sound and the features it has to change the pitch and speed. If this and other AI could somehow be incorporated into a wonderful program that Articulate 360 / Storyline/ Rise already is, all of the users would really appreciate it .

The neural voices are a vast improvement over the previous text-to-speech offerings. I was excited to see them and I have been using them in my new course offerings.

Hi Allison, In the last post a few members of the community gave their ideas for upgraded features, such as text to voice enhancement which you all were able to actually launch. There was another feature I am looking forward to seeing if you all could develop in the future which is creating mor tailored content using Generative AI and hopefully have it incorporated into 360. I was actually surprised to see this is about to be done with a software similar to yours 360Learning. Thank you and I totally agree. Learning for today's adult learner is technology driven. As champions of learning and development we must strive to: increase engagement, decrease duration, and make the content easy to digest, and enhance the learning journey.

I am using the new AI text to voice. It is useful but hoping you will improve on the quality of the voices available. Secondly, I would really appreciate it if we could add subtitles without the backgrounds as a clean screen is often better. Don't see any need in BETA commenting as that is one feature that works perfectly fine. We need better AI options in the video editing and text to voice.

When will you start to introduce AI driven functionalities that will support content creators with following: Ideate & brainstorm; Summarize; Simplify; Create bullet points; Create an knowledge test based on the course content, etc?

I really just meant in general, as I'd like a way to tell my team how to give feedback. But in this specific case, for the Review 360 Team folder feature, it would be great if we could publish directly to a Team folder instead of having to publish first to our personal folder and then remember to move it.
