How To Use E-Learning Heroes To Connect With Your Peers & Get Inspired

E-Learning Heroes is more than just a place to learn how to use Articulate apps, get product support, and find free assets. It’s a community anyone can join built around fostering connections and friendly sharing between everyone who creates e-learning—from seasoned instructional designers and developers to people who are just getting started. And it’s that openness that makes it such a great resource.

So, how do you start mixing it up with your peers? Where do you go to unlock your creative inspiration? Here’s a quick rundown of a few ways to get started.

1. Participate in discussions

It’s easy to think of the discussion forums as a place to go when you run into technical difficulties—since that’s where many people go to ask product-specific questions. But did you know we also have a forum dedicated to connecting with other community members and getting advice on instructional design challenges? Well if you didn’t, you do now! It’s called the Building Better Courses forum.

The Building Better Courses forum is chock-full of helpful folks willing to bounce creative ideas around or give you feedback on your latest project. It’s also a place where people share templates they’ve created, project examples, tips for speeding up the creation process, and other creative ideas.

2. Take part in e-learning challenges

Another fun way to get involved with the community is by participating in the weekly E-Learning Challenges

Every week, we challenge our community members to build mini-projects around a different theme. Participating is a great opportunity to stretch your creative muscles and practice your skills in a safe, supportive space. It’s also a smart way to build your portfolio, expand your network, and boost your visibility. And it’s fascinating to see how many wildly different projects people create around the exact same challenge prompt. So inspirational!

3. Join an Articulate user group

Virtual connections are great, but it’s amazing how relationships can flourish as a result of the occasional face-to-face meetup. That’s where local user groups shine—they take the community off the screen and into real life! User groups are community-organized meetups of Articulate software users. They’re a great way to network, build your skills, and make new friends!

Interested in attending a local meetup? Check out the full list on the Upcoming E-Learning Heroes Events page. If there’s no user group in your area, we’d love it if you organized one. If you start one, be sure to tell us about it so we can add it to our list!

4. Browse the examples hub

Are you curious about what others are creating? Or maybe you’re just looking for ideas to freshen up your next e-learning project. There’s a place on E-Learning Heroes for that too. It’s called the E-Learning Examples hub

It’s brimming with beautiful, fun, and inspiring projects created by the community and the Articulate Community Team.

Browse through pages and pages of course examples. When you see something you like, select the thumbnail to find out more and try it out yourself.

5. Download free templates

If you want to see even more examples, head over to the Downloads hub.

You’ll find tons of free graphic assets and templates that’ll not only inspire you—they’ll help you get from start to finish in no time.

Since these downloads are made by both community members and the Articulate Community Team, it’s also a great way to grow your skills by exploring how different designers build content. And if you have any questions about how something works, you can ask the author in the comments section.

The Bottom Line

Participating in a community of e-learning creators is one of the best ways to kick-start your professional growth and development. E-Learning Heroes offers you the perfect place to connect with fellow professionals from all walks of life and to learn from each other as you grow your skills.

  • A million times this! I can't recommend enough taking part in the Challenges each week. David does a brilliant job at curating these and the community is so supportive.

Wouldn't be where I am today without it. Truly.
