Hi all!
I love seeing others' examples and the work they've come up with. As it happens, a colleague of mine is in this cohort as well, so we've been bantering about the work we've each been doing.
Without further adieu, here's my sample and takeaways: https://share.articulate.com/Nia8BgUDaQtzQ0WdOCJbX - EDIT: I updated the course with a new tone and voice since initial publication, but the core is the same. Enjoy some fun changes!
- Share 3 changes you made:
- I converted several interactions, especially the drop-down interactions, to tab format. If I had more time, I'd also add images and AI audio where appropriate.
- On a custom block, I formatted text, created AI images and added AI audio.
- I used the AI Summary feature to create a draft, then made edits and additions with the AI text.
- Bonus 1: I used AI to update the quiz questions, answers and feedback.
- Bonus 2: In the summary, I added an AI Avatar, even though it's technically only available through labs.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you? The quiz creation and editing were key for me. I'm terrible at writing questions and coming up with answers and feedback, so it bridges a gap and cuts out a lot of work for me.
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted? As others have said, the prompting with AI images was challenging, despite having used various tools to generate AI images. I also noticed that for multiple answer questions in the quiz, the questions it created only had one correct answer, so I was "forced" to AI edit those questions to actually be multiple response.
This is not my first run at creating a course using the AI assistant and it was interesting seeing how in this case, the course was VERY interaction heavy as compared to when I created my first two courses. It would be worth thinking about the nature of the sources and how the initial prompt combined with adding directions for how each source should be used might impact that.
One other note I appreciated - Sometimes, when generating my AI images, it would use the same "characters" in some of the results, useful in keeping a consistent "cast" throughout the course. It would be great if you could use AI Assistant in Rise similar to how you can in Storyline, pasting an image then asking the AI to create variations using the same people in the source image.
Last quirk - when I previewed the course with my name included, it did something really weird with my picture. Something to submit to support, but thought I'd toss it out there:
Great point about checking the quiz answer(s) match what type of question it's meant to be! Is there a specific part of the quiz creation that you feel gives you the biggest step up (or as you said, bridges the biggest gap) in terms of efficiency?
- JasonDalrympleCommunity Member
For me, it's all of it, to be honest. While I always have a good handle on the objectives and outcomes, I'm not great at writing standard quiz questions. Most of the courses I've developed, since they're heavily software simulation, have hands-on assessments rather than a traditional quiz. If I were building this course in Storyline, for example, I'd likely finish with a "day in the life" simulation, similar to the Scenario block in Rise. My focus is so much on skills and practice that I am little blind to building standard assessments.
- KirstyGeesonCommunity Member
Hi Jason,
Great course! I especially love your customer blocks. The image/quote ones have a lot of visual impact. Any chance you can share how you created the free type ones? We do this in storyline but I didn't know you could do it in Rise. Bare in mind though that if it involves coding I'm out haha.
I don't really have any suggestions - other than did you know there's a feature in the themes menu where you can change your block background colour throughout your course? Will save you loads of time if you didn't. It is still in Beta testing though I think.- JasonDalrympleCommunity Member
Thanks for the feedback! The image with the quote is a custom block where I changed the radius on the image to get it to a circle. I did struggle to repeat it, though, if I adjusted it. I couldn't get it to go back to the 180 radius I had originally.
Are you asking about the reflective questions? If so, that's also a custom design using a Code Block I developed using Lovable AI. Since making mine, I've seen a whole slew of variations that do even more than mine, which just saves the response locally.
I think I know about the block background setting? It's in the Theme area, right? I have a "standard" I use where I have the interactions blocks use the theme tint and text blocks using the "light" color. Is there a setting that does that?
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
JasonDalrymple I loved those circle images too. I'll have to tinker with the radius option. I never noticed that option. It adds consistency and pizazz to your course. I noticed you used reflection blocks. Did you custom code those or are these a pull in from Mighty. That's a feature of their product I really like.
- JasonDalrympleCommunity Member
Hi JeanMarrapodi-c! It was fun making that work - I don't know why it's not allowing me to resize to the same specs I have it now. Right now, the radius is at 185, and if I change the radius, it won't let me go back to that number. I have to tinker with it more.
As for the reflection blocks, those are custom code blocks that originally came from Lovable, but then I built an app so I can create and customize to my liking. I created before I found several others that had done similar work that I'm trying to add in to my own version - https://rise360-essay-prompt.lovable.app

- For this project, I edited Lesson 1 and added a quiz to the end of the course. It was quick and easy to use AI. I created images and added some to the flip cards, too. It was very helpful to let AI create images with the same look and feel throughout. It saves so much time over trying to pick them out myself. I also created an AI custom block with audio as a reflection exercise. It took a second to do it, and it added interest. I added a hook at the beginning of the course, edited some text, and updated some of the content block with a different look and feel.
- Having AI create the course for me from the assets I provided, and divide it into 3 lessons, was the most helpful for me. Plus, its ability to create matching images is great.
- Just finding the look and feel I wanted was a challenge. I had to try some different prompts.
- AlisonF1Community Member
Beth,
Your course looked great. It was very informative and great pictures! I liked the AI audio you used as the reflection thought.
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
BethCraven I'll agree with Alison about the audio in the reflection block. That was a great addition. Your course has a professional look and feel.
I found myself zipping through without reading, which is something managers will do if you don't force them to stop. As carefully as we craft the verbiage, if they aren't finding real value in what it says, they will zip through it. That's why it's important to add forced interactions that makes them engage with the material.
One other thing - in your quiz I noticed you had a question with multiselect blocks when they should have been radio buttons. I've seen a ton of these so it's something I think the AI needs to be trained on. The rule is if it's one answer, use radio buttons, if it's multiple answers, use square checkboxes.
- KirstyGeesonCommunity Member
Hi All, well! I spent far longer on this than I'd intended. Full on rabbit hole mode this morning. Anyway here's my attempt.
3 Changes:
AI Editor - i used it to save time (bold/bold colours), tone/language changes etc... but also to experiment. e.g. I used it to convert a paragraph into a 2 way conversation.Custom AI images - not used this feature before and am now a convert. Now I know I can use it to align images to the brand colouring which is fab and helps with consistency. Also creating infographics - very handy!
AI audio narration added throughout - This is something we started doing in my team last year. It's good for accessibility and allows learners to choose how they learn.
AI Feature: There's a few. the ones above but also creating multiple images with the stock characters is going to be really useful! i played around with this too.
Challenges: As ever with AI getting it to make things sound natural. It was particularly hard with the 2 way conversation. I tried loads of different prompts but it still wasn't right. I achieved what I wanted which is a proof of concept scenario block but its not perfect. AI gave me a good starting point, but it might just be something that needs the human touch.- KristalGreavesCommunity Member
Hi Kirsty!
Great job on your course build, it looks great!
Share what you liked about their course structure or content. I love the look, feel and flow of your course! I think the use of AI audio to create scenarios to follow a conversation was a super cool.
I also think the way you generated all your images, to include custom images that support your sections, was a really good use of AI to really understand the topic at hand. Great job!
Honestly, I am still pretty new at this so I have no suggestions. Great job!
- KirstyGeesonCommunity Member
Thanks Kristal, glad you liked it. The convo isn't perfect but I think it worked as a proof of concept.
- JasonDalrympleCommunity Member
Great work on this one! I totally understand the rabbit hole and had to fight to get myself out, but getting inundated with meetings for the rest of the week forced my hand.
I love that you were able to get images of the same two people for the custom scenario - is that a custom block? I haven't seen anything like that before! How did you get the multiple images of the same two people? I know how to do that in Storyline, but didn't see anything on how to do it in Rise.
One thought is that I might have chosen a different header font, largely for accessibility. I had a hard time reading it in places and my ADHD couldn't stop staring at it sometimes. I also really liked the use of audio in only specific spots. It's a question that's come up in our development with my opinion being that you have to use it judiciously and intentionally rather than on every block.
- KirstyGeesonCommunity Member
Hi, thanks for taking a look.
The images were done using the AI assistant in SL, exported and then uploaded to a custom block in rise.
I get the font. It's a brand one, we've been battling with the readability of it but Articulate have just released the update where you can change fonts within the blocks which will make it easier to manage.
We've had positive feedback from learners about the audio narration. People who use screen readers in particular love it because it saves the so much time.

Hello everyone! Here is the link to my attempt at an AI generated course.
https://share.articulate.com/F7JWEpmBdI7wOqKQOzycd
1. I probably spent far too much time working on this course than I should have, but I decided to go ahead and alter the entire course with custom blocks, custom AI generated images, custom AI audio, and used many of the AI features to alter the wording, tone, length, etc. I made the changes to try my luck at every feature, while also getting some practice in. After the first lesson was completed, I decided to go ahead and do the rest of the course to make sure it stayed cohesive, easy to read, and engaging all around.
2. I think the quick convert option using AI was super helpful for time purposes. It allowed for me to quickly convert one block into another, using all the information that was already available, instead of having to tell AI everything that the block needed to show.
Additionally, I liked the use of AI to assist with accessibility, especially in Storyline. I think Rise still has a little bit to go to be as efficient as Storyline, but it's definitely getting there!
3. The custom blocks were probably the hardest, as you have to be really specific with what you want. I found that I had to start over very often. Also, the quick prompts for changing tone and length work well, but at times, it's easier to just tell it exactly what you want, rather than trying to use one of the pre-built shortcuts.
- KirstyGeesonCommunity Member
Hi Krystal,
Well done on your course! It has a lovely calming feel about it, and you've definitely achieved the cohesiveness you were aiming for. Your images are fab. They somehow feel like they all exist in the same office. Sometimes I feel like the AI can look like stand alone images but yours work really well together. Loved your reflection exercise too!
A suggestion would be to keep experimenting with the custom blocks, I tend to use a blank one rather than the templates because it gives me more freedom. Custom images for your flip cards would be good too. 🙂 - JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
Nice job KristalGreaves! You really used audio effectively in this. Overall the course looks very professional and you've included things to keep it engaging and applicable to the managers taking it.
One thing that you might want to watch for next time: Sometimes the AI creates multiple choice (one answer) questions in a multiselect format. Two of your questions in the final quiz had that happen. When there's one answer, it should be radio buttons; when it's multiple answers, we use checkboxes.

Hi! Here is the link for my generated AI course.
https://share.articulate.com/A_z1oiWGXEyStxJCRgra3
3 main changes:
- Used AI to rewrite several content blocks, making them more engaging and easier to read.
- Applied the Instant Convert feature to update layouts and organize content using list formats.
- Replaced images with visuals that better represented group size and participant positioning to improve clarity and realism.
Most Valuable AI Feature:
In Rise, I found that I liked both the AI image editing capabilities and the Instant Convert tool the best. The ability to quickly transform content into different block layouts is a huge plus for Instant Convert. This will help streamline the design process and ideas for organizing content more effectively. As for the AI image editing capabilities, this feature made it possible to fine-tune visuals better to align with the course design. Through using the tool, I learned that the quality of the results is heavily dependent on the specificity of the prompt. The more detailed and precise the description, the more accurately the AI can generate or improve the image to meet the desired outcome.
Challenges:
Learning how to effectively use the new AI features in Rise. While the tools offer significant benefits, it took time to explore the various options and understand how to craft specific prompts to achieve the desired results. With additional practice, I expect to use these features more efficiently to create more engaging and impactful training materials.

https://share.articulate.com/TX4B13-niNR28Jk28M5H
3 changes:
- Applied the instant convert feature to try several type of changes and see what happens
- Applied 2 prompts from Tips & tricks to change feedback type in quiz and edit & format texts
- Edited image with Storyline to get consistent illustrations through out block
- for the fun I used a french voice for a text to speech in US english...just to see
Most valuable AI feature
- Instant convert and AI generated knowledge check are really very helpful for me
Challenges
- AI text to speech is a great time saver, (Just to see, I used a French voice to convert one English text into audio), I hope AI generated Images will be as easy to utilize
- MikeAdams-31ddaCommunity Member
Hi Vronique, I liked your course! It was very engaging and I liked the four pillars followed up by how managers can support the pillars directly bellow. It was a great use of the tools as you employed a great deal of variety. I also liked the voice :).
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
Hi VroniqueCollet! What a lively course you built! The fuchsia is a real attention getter. I figured you must be in Paris from your opening image. I looked you up and in the process saw your bunny. What a cutie!
Q for you. You had your final pillar as balance, but the other courses showed it as health. Personally, I think balance fits better. Did you change that or did that happen in translation?
I liked the French voice you chose. It's helpful for us to leverage accents if that is what our audience will hear regularly.
I noticed your modules were out of order. Was that intentional?

Hello! This has been a fun opportunity to build my skills with Articulate's AI Assistant and also explore some new ones.
✔️3 Main Changes:
- I used the “Edit with AI” function to better align learning objectives with Bloom’s Taxonomy verbs that are actionable within eLearning.
- I used Instant Convert throughout to ensure AI generated interactions were better aligned to our objectives.
- I used AI to generate plausible responses in my conversation custom block.
✔️Most Valuable Feature:
I think Instant Convert was the most valuable in my workflow. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how well AI worked in the custom blocks and saw many areas for potential use.
❌Challenge:
I wanted to use the AI feature for gathering quotes in the Quote blocks. While I was able to find a way to use AI for image changes, I didn’t see a way to use it for the text. I will have to keep exploring.
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
Great use of color around things TinaDiamond-ccd. This is certainly vivid. I'm glad to see how much reflection you included here, as well as were you surprised by questions. That helps keep the learners engaged.
Here's a demo on using the AI text feature in Rise:

- Share 3 changes you made I changed some of the images. I added images and audio to some of the process blocks. I changed a couple of the accordion blocks to process blocks because it seemed to make more sense. I also added a quiz
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable Generating images was very valuable, but I did often times get some weird results.
- What challenges Generating images was also a challenge due to getting the prompts right so I got the images I wanted.
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
Well done SeanBenedict! You managed to create images that fit really well with your theme and your course is quite cohesive. You've leveraged AI well in that regard. You're also one of the only people who understood the difference between multiselect and multiple choice questions and used them correctly. You had some stellar application there.
A couple things I noticed. It was easy for me to keep scrolling without reading or engaging. I've found that managers are awful about this, and if they can take a shortcut, they will. Without forced interactions that stop them and make them do something with the things they have been learning, they will cut corners. Yes, you have accordians and flip cards but they can zoom past them without reading them. Break up lessons with the continue bar. You can set that so they must interact. You had a nice use of the continue bar in that it stopped them, they clicked it, and you gave them an additional paragraph about the content and what was coming up. That was nifty.
Second, don't congratulate them on finishing the course before the quiz. Save that till after the quiz.
Have fun leveraging the AI tools more on your next course.

Share 3 changes you made:
- Created a new AI-generated image
- Used the Instant Convert feature multiple times
- Highlighted text and used the Rewrite feature
- Added AI Audio
- Added a 5 question AI-generated quiz at the end of the course
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable:
- I love the instant convert. This is going to save so much time!
- AI audio, and captions will save so much time as well.
- The rewrite and tone options are helpful as well. I would really like it if the AI worked more like when you use co-pilot or chatgpt when it is a conversation and it remembers all the things you have previously asked. It seems as if the AI in Articulate start over every time.
What challenges:
- The Create a new course with AI seems clunky, some sections/topics are not as aligned with the original documents/writing. There also seems to be a lot of duplicate information provided which could be condensed for a more micro learning feel.
- Prompting in general is still a craft I am developing. I notice it most when generating images.
JenniferDingle you're not alone with developing prompt sense, a few members have made resources that might help (in addition to the ones the training team has made!)
AI Prompt Practice | E-Learning Heroes- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
You raise some good points here, JenniferDingle about the learning curve we're all on with AI tools. Hopefully the tools MaryEmma_Gary shared will be helpful.
You've done a marvelous job getting the tools to create images that feel authentic and rewriting the text to feel friendlier even if it felt like it took a lot of work. Did you try asking it to condense the text? I think that's something the tool is capable of if you select the paragraphs you want to edit.

- Share 3 changes you made: All of the changes were to the first lesson, or I could have spent lots of time procrastinating on other duties. I changed some of the images. I had AI create a picture of the four pillars using a prompt. I added voice to a block. I also added a quiz question using AI.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you? I think it’s amazing that I can enter a couple documents, a description and AI can create a whole e-learning training for me in minutes. What an incredible time saver! I also like Instant Convert and can’t wait to use it more! I played around with the labs AI Avatar and can’t wait for that to be in production. I see lots of use cases for it!
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted? Sometimes when I wanted to replace block by inserting below, it either took forever to actually do it or it did not add the content at all and I would have to go do it again. I also felt that the initial content build created a lot more content than I thought it would and ended up deleting some just to keep it simple.
- DianneTomko-228Peer Guide
I really like how intentionally you explored several different AI capabilities rather than focusing on just one. Creating a custom image for the four pillars, adding voice narration, and building a quiz question shows a thoughtful approach to enhancing the learner experience.
Your excitement about tools like Instant Convert and AI Avatars is contagious, and it's great to see you already thinking about future use cases. I also appreciate your honest reflection on the challenges you encountered. Recognizing where AI generates too much content and knowing when to simplify is an important skill that will make your courses even stronger. Nice work!
