Hi everyone,
This was a fun learning experience! Here's the link to my demo course: https://share.articulate.com/iqm5yzLwGl7rK9GpTP5t6.
Notable changes:
- I added an ungraded knowledge "pre-check" to the beginning of the module to introduce the content and let the learner check their own understanding.
- I used AI Assistant to "rewrite the content in plain language" and "change the title to sentence case" for better formatting and ease of reading.
- I used AI Assistant to create a graded knowledge check with custom correct and incorrect feedback with answer justifications.
- I added a "Course Complete" Storyline embed with custom AI images, narration, and sound effects.
The most valuable capability was the AI Assistant's ability to rewrite content in plain language or at a specific grade reading level.
The only challenge I had was, depending on where I was activating the AI Assistant, it didn't always consistently reference the source material or full module content available at the time. I solved it by going to another spot, prompting the content I needed, then going back to the empty chapter and pasting the content in the AI Assistant from there.
Thanks -- Grace 🤠

Hi Grace,
What a great course! So many things I loved about how you tackled this assignment:Loved how you started with a quiz and the kind instructions "It's okay if you get them wrong; we'll review everything in the education that follows." And then the kind conclusion "Think about the answers you selected, and what you may already know about leading happy and fulfilling teams. When you're ready, let's get started!"
Loved how you put images in the tabs - so much more enticing! Here's a note for Articulate - Seeing how Grace put images in the tabs, it reminded me how often I have thought "I wish the flipcards could offer the ability to have images on the front and backs of the cards, if we chose. This could provide more interesting ways to present information. And also, like the tabs, I wish expandable boxes could have images in them too!Loved the consistent look and feel of your images!
Loved the question reflection table - smart way to display the information. It really worked for my head! 😄
Loved including the resources used to build the module near the end of the course.
Loved your video at the end of the course with actual applause for finishing the course! 👏😄
Not a lot I can offer for improvement, perhaps add some audio? Also, I know this might have been intentional to help us move more quickly through your final quiz, but just in case it wasn't, your correct answers had a [C] beside the correct choices in your final quiz (if it was intentional, thank you, I appreciated it! 🤣).
Hope you'll check out my course!
UPDATE:
Looks like I have more to learn...in viewing another course I see the flashcards can have images! I'll have to figure this out, as I didn't see how to do this...Thanks to JeremyNash for putting these in your course! 😃

Hi all,
I hope you had as much fun and learning as I have over the past 2 weeks. Can't wait to see what you've created. Here is the link to mine. I updated Lesson 3:
https://share.articulate.com/S_sw2FizCJ-8LApWvaO82
3 Changes I made:
- Generated multiple AI Images
- Added AI Audio
- Changes content prompts
I found the ability to change formats and prompts the most useful. It seemed to really help with the content flow and become more engaging.
I've found that I'll need to play more with the AI Block and use details that were provided in this cohort Tips and Tricks.
Can't wait to review others content provide feedback and learn more.
Warmly,
Samantha Laframboise

Hi everyone!
Here's my Rise course:
https://share.articulate.com/VCT854pAuu-AKNmjaJXjn
- Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. I changed regular information into scenarios to get the user's mind active before they started the actual learning section. Then after the scenarios I added a follow up question. I also changed the course description into a generic scenario that addressed all three sections of the course. I added some AI images with custom prompts to support the content in the lesson and/or support a scenario at the beginning of the lessons. I also used Instant Convert to change some blocks into more engaging pieces.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you? I just loved Instant Convert. This really helped speed up the process of changing the format. Nothing about it was surprising - the name is pretty telling.
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted? It took a few tries to get a picture I liked sometimes. Also on one quiz question the AI created a scenario-specific question and I had to get AI to replace it because it wasn't what I wanted. I also had issues when I was trying to convert text to a bulleted list because the AI wasn't bulleting all of the words I needed.

Hi everyone,
Here's the Quick Share link for my draft course:
https://share.articulate.com/8pnTd87T4ERiNRIRbHRRH.
- Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
I updated the theme, font and color to match what my colleagues and I use within our organization. It has a minimalist look, which I thought was appropriate for the topic.
For visuals, I used the AI image generator and a simple custom prompt to create photorealistic images of a small team working in a modern office. The images from the prompt seemed like a good match for the theme and look similar to what you'd find in a stock image library. In hindsight, I probably should've added a few more images to each lesson to break up the interactions and written copy a bit.
The Edit with AI feature and a prompt to bold key text were helpful for efficiently highlighting key concepts within the various Accordian blocks.
Since the course contained more content than a typical Microlearning, I used "Generate course summary" to create a concise, bulleted list of the key takeaways at the end.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
For me, the most impactful feature was Create with AI. I found this helpful for getting some initial momentum and laying out the general course structure. This is particularly helpful when creating a course about a topic or with content where I am not the subject matter expert.
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
The AI images required several revisions to the prompt in order to get satisfactory output. This could certainly be due to my limited experience with generating prompts for AI images. As an outdoor lifestyle brand, my employer has taken a firm stance against the use of any AI images in external facing content, so my team and I have had limited practice with this functionality in our day-to-day work.
Thanks for checking out my course!

Hi Ian!
- My recommendation would be using an AI tool to shorten your title.
- AI-wise, I like how you set the flash cards up to show one at a time! Also the process with pictures is great.
- Be sure to give instructions in the interactive blocks so the user knows what to do

Hello!

Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement.
I made several changes to improve learner engagement throughout the course. First, I updated the visuals by changing many of the images to a LEGO theme. I wanted the course to feel more fun, cohesive, and visually interesting for learners instead of relying on standard stock imagery.
In addition, I added a stronger hook at the beginning of the course to better capture attention right away and encourage learners to stay engaged with the content.
Finally, I increased the level of interactivity throughout the course. I added additional knowledge checks throughout and included a matching activity in the final quiz.
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
The AI feature I found most valuable was the ability to generate images within a consistent theme. This helped save a significant amount of time and made it easier to create a more visually unified course experience.
I did not have time to fully customize every image, but if I had more time, I would have expanded the concept further by updating all of those and tailoring the language and examples specifically toward managers in the construction industry.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
A challenge I faced was creating AI-generated images with enough diversity. I often had to be very specific about race, gender, and age before I received results that matched what I was looking for.

Good afternoon, let me begin by saying I am not an instructional designer, I am the Senior LMS administrator. I work with our designer and may make edits or changes as I proofread and check courses for consistency, branding and making sure the course works as a participant would expect it to. However, I have been given some opportunities to be more creative with existing courses, and possibly do more than I am already, so I am taking this course to learn the new AI features.
Here is my course: https://share.articulate.com/xItnJQ4lHYRNfJAuZaHIV
I know my course is not very cohesive between the three modules. I am trying to put as much knowledge of the AI features into them without making them too busy or too dull. In the first one, I opened with a hook story, an AI generated image and then an AI generated audio file. I enlarged the flip cards to be two on a page so the text could be larger, I also played around with some background colors and padding. I also asked AI to suggest some improvements on language or to shorten others. I changed one block to be a sorting activity.
In the second lesson I wanted to change the tone to “casual” even though this topic doesn’t really fit that tone, as if the new managers were in their teens or twenties and this is the first time they have managed others. I also wanted to use some images in the accordion feature that were the opposite of the scenarios and I thought they would go better with a more casual tone.
I really enjoyed working with the AI custom image prompt, but found it difficult to not get an image with wording on it. Most of the time the words were not spelled correctly or it would put the same word, like “Boss” or “Manager” in a thought bubble, framed on the wall, over the door, everywhere, in the same image! And finding ways for AI to shorten, lengthen, suggest improvements on text was fabulous!
I am in awe of all the submissions I have looked at. You all are amazing designers! I will definitely have to look at all of them and get more inspiration!

Here's my quick link to share with the group.
Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
- I used AI instant convert to turn the core elements list from Lesson 1 into an image & text feature to break up the monotony of that structure that is in every lesson.
- I AI generated a knowledge check question using the matching feature to heighten the rigor of the check in Lesson 2.
- In Lesson 3, I AI modified the front of the flashcards to make the interaction more interesting for the learner.
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
Being able to upload my supporting documents into the course from the beginning to improve the accuracy of the information was both valuable and surprising.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
I don't recall running into challenges, but I also am used to adjusting AI prompts to fit the result I am looking for.

Hi! This is great! I would recommend:
- Rather than telling the learner the outcome of the scenario, asking the learner to think about what the outcome could be.
- End each lesson with a Continue button with a "lock til all blocks are complete" so that the user does have to view everything before moving on. I was able to go lesson to lesson without opening/completing the blocks.
- In Module 1, make sure that you let the learner know they have to click the plus sign to expand each category (can't assume they've done e-learning before). Same for the flash cards.
- For Healthy vs. Unhealthy, consider sorting! That would be cool.
- The color scheme is kind of light (it's hard to see the words "Start Quiz" and the radio buttons, so maybe a darker shade of this could work).

- Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
- Baseball theme - I may have been a little extra with the baseball analogy used throughout but I never get to have that much fun when so many of my projects are locked down in terms of style. The baseball theme seemed appropriate when talking about teams and it makes it more fun and engaging.
- Audio samples - I let the audio do some heavy lifting, not by narrarating what's on the screen buy by providing examples of the topic or list item matching it up to real life. Kind of like mini-scenarios. I think it helps the learner to connect the concepts to the real world. This is also why I used several different voices and images.
- Got rid of most paragraphs - There's nothing more eyeglazing than a bunch of paragraphs. I used AI like crazy for this. I converted paragraphs to lists then converted the lists to scripts and other interactives.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
- Getting AI to create create audio scripts from a few words. I used this when I created the baseball diamond of teammates with the custom block. I first had AI split the paragraph into a list with a header for each list item, e.g. "STEP UP TO THE PLATE. Take responsibility and show readiness to help the team." Then I used the header as a label and pasted the short description into the AI audio. I then had AI expand the short description into a few sentences. Voila! I've now got 5 talking heads not narrating but decribing what is meant by each short header. I also used it to create the audio with voices giving examples of the 5 concepts from the Sources of Fulfillment for Team Members section. Rather than have the audio narrate what's on the screen, I added semi real-life examples of what the concepts looked like applied to different people. What surprised me is that I didn't think of using audio like this before. I used multiple voices to simulate 3 team members and their perspectives. I liked the use of the human faces so you could imagine the person behind each of the voices. It was fun trying to match up people with what they might sound like.
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted
- Ugh! I almost gave up on creating images because you can't do iterative images or use reference images. I chose to not use realistic people for that reason. I did give up on the idea I had for creating a family of 5 icons to use on the baseball diamond and used real human portraits instead because it was a nightmare trying to duplicate a style AND getting the image I wanted. And if someone can tell me the best way to make sure AI doesn't try to put text in the images I'll pay them.
Note: I used the Mighty plug in for a couple of transitions so if you don't have it you'll see placeholders. Also, I did most of the changes to the first lesson only.

Wow, I love what you did! Your added audio is great, and the work that went into the baseball diamond is incredible! So clever. Great job!
I agree, I had SOOO much trouble generating images that didn't include words! Even at times when I put in there "do not add any words"! It was very frustrating.
Great job!

Thanks! I learned somewhere that it's best not to tell it what NOT to do but rather frame it as what TO do. I do a lot of courses for warehouse and data center employees, but they don't wear hard hats. It seems ALL of the stock images always have them wearing hardhats including every single one in Rise and Storyline. For example, I've had limited success using "images only". To get rid of hard hats I specify something about their head like "ponytail or baseball cap" to avoid hard hats which works most of the time. Also, it seems to work better when it's one of the first instructions.

Three Changes: I made changes to the style, theme, used instant convert to change the activities, changed the font and added custom images.
Most Valuable AI Feature: I love the Instant convert because I can easily change an activity to one that might align more with the content in a particular block. I also like how easily you can change the tone of your content. The thing that surprised me the most is how intuitive using the AI Assistant is, once I recall and remember the icons and their purpose I will be able to work much more faster and with quality work.
What Challenges: I think the main challenge that I had was actually remembering what each of the icons/tools are used for. Remembering to delete a block when I replaced it with another.
- StefanieKirs743Community Member
Hi Tracy,
- I love how you colored the blocks in! That really helps them stand out.
- You should lock your Continue buttons so that the user has to view all material before progressing to the next lesson.
- It looks like you used AI Assistant to covert text into a process block with some different wording. It looks good!

Hi everyone, I’d like to share my AI course draft with you: https://share.articulate.com/uf8JIjN3Wb8CcKVf2lUuh
I made changes to the first lesson. As mentioned in the instructions, it is only a draft. In a real-world scenario, I would spend more time polishing the course😁 My main aim was to practice using AI functions.🤓
Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
- I used a Rise AI Avatar, as I really wanted to test it, even though it was not presented within this cohort. I used this avatar as a trainer to guide the learner through the course—from the lesson introduction to the lesson summary.
- Several custom blocks were created, which included AI-generated voice. This voice matched the AI avatar mentioned above. The idea was to create a stronger feeling of the trainer’s presence for the learner.
- I applied several prompts—both pre-built (such as “rewrite text,” “change tone,” and “bold key terms”) and customized ones, such as the “Open with a hook strategy” prompt—to make the lesson more engaging.
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
- I was surprised by the AI avatars, especially the ability to generate the same avatar in different poses and emotions, rather than using it only as a static talking head. This adds a lot of flexibility to content creation.
- I really liked the prebuilt functions such as “Create an AI Image Prompt,” “Create a Scenario,” and “Change tone,” which I had never used before. After this cohort, these functions will definitely become part of my regular eLearning creation routine 😊 They really help to streamline the process.
- I also learned a lot about writing effective prompts from the Tips & Tricks section. One particularly valuable prompt was “Open with a hook strategy”.👍
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
- I was testing one of the prompts presented in the Tips & Tricks exercises but was not able to successfully apply the prompt to change the color of bold text (Prompt: “Change color of bold words to #1977dc.”).😑
- When working with AI-generated images, there were often issues with unrealistic text or spelling mistakes within the images. I adjusted the prompts multiple times to achieve better results.
- When generating AI voice, some parts initially did not sound natural. However, after adjusting the advanced settings, I was able to achieve a more natural result.
