Can Replay produce a closed caption file?

Jan 11, 2024

Hi all,
Today I am publishing a video I edited in Replay. The video is going to be uploaded to our LMS. I desire to include a .vtt file for closed caption in our LMS. But, it appears that Replay will not produce one. So I have to take the extra step of uploading the .mp4 file to Microsoft Stream to create the transcript/.vtt file. As you can imagine when the video is an hour long this take quite a lot of time to publish and upload. Help me save time - how do you create .vtt files for videos created with Replay?
I have started using ClipChamp from (a "free" app from Microsoft) but feel that Replay must offer this the .vtt file what am I missing to publish it?

Hi Sara,

Thanks for reaching out!

Right now, there isn't a closed caption feature in Replay 360. This is a feature request that we are currently tracking, so I'll be sure to share your post with my team.

As a workaround, you can import the video into Storyline 360 to use its built-in closed caption feature: Importing Closed Captions for Narration and Videos

You can then publish your Storyline 360 course as a video when you're done adding the captions.
