AICC + Litmos LMS = No Tracking

Hey everyone,

So I'm having trouble getting our AICC course files to track in Litmos LMS. When I test the file on SCORM Cloud they work, but when tested on Litmos, the course does not track. Even a basic course with a few slides will not track in Litmos when published as AICC.

Litmos support stated that the PutParam request message from the course is not AICC standard and that the lesson_location is blank. They also added that Litmos is AICC 4.0 Compliant.

So with that, I have a few questions:

1. How can I modify the PutParam lesson_location to not be blank?
2. How can I ensure that Storyline 360 is using AICC 4.0?
3. Will this actually solve the issue?

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the info. Here's the exact response from Litmos Support:

The PutParam request message is not as per the AICC standard. The Lesson location passed by the file is blank. The file must pass the bookmarking information in the Lesson Location data element.

For example, the current AICC has the lesson location blank:

[Core] Lesson_Location=   Lesson_Status=I

And it should be more like this:

[Core] Lesson_Location=ehs_hsf_c96_sh_enus_t5p22x01 Lesson_Status=Incomplete

 

To add to my other questions, which tools were used to determine that the Lesson_Location is blank (I'm guessing something in the LMS logs)? Is there a way for me to solve this?

So, whatever Storyline is forwarding, Litmos doesn't like? Interesting that SCORM Cloud doesn't seem to have the same problem. I assume the course your uploaded to SCORM Cloud was also an AICC file?

To see the communication going on in real-time between the course and the LMS, enable LMS Debug Mode before uploading the ZIPped file to the LMS.
