Hi, I am looking into purchasing a new Macbook pro with the M1 chip to use for storyline as I am tired of using two different laptops for work. Does the new parallels software work on the M1 effectively to use storyline?
Sorry, I am just jumping on this thread with my own motive to find out more before I spend a small fortune on a new laptop.
FYI, this thread is a bit old now, but I wanted to add a note that I've been having only mixed success with running Articulate 360 on a 2021 M1 Mac under Parallels/Windows 11 ARM version. It seems very unstable, loses line spacing settings, and crashes frequently.
Ugh. See this discussion in which an Articulate staff member says to some THINKING OF PURCHASING AN APPLE M1 DEVICE that Storyline 360 and M1 work "well." He points out the slowness of the trigger issue but is that "well"?
Has there been any updates to user experience since this last post. I am running macOS with the new M2 chip. Articulate recommends installing parallel to have a second operating system. That is certainly not preferred and I am also very leery of a company that does not support macOS when alot of companies now work with macBooks. Any suggestions or updates would be appreciated.
Windows now offers support for parallels and 1 click installation. I'm assuming that the windows image has then been optimized for working with parallels. Has anyone tried that and noticed any performance increase?

I've been using parallels with a new M1 chip macbook for about 5 months and it's been working great!
Thank you for your prompt reply.
Do you mind me asking what spec is your MacBook?
It's a Macbook air 16G
Thank you very much for the information.

Posted about it here: Storyline 360 instability on M1 Mac with Parallels/Windows 11 ARM version - Articulate Storyline Discussions - E-Learning Heroes
Curious to hear the experience of people working on M1 Macs who have been working extensively, not just doing a few tryouts.
Thanks,
Lon
Bump on this. Anyone else have anything to add? We are holding off on purchasing a new M1 Mac because of this issue.

Please see my post about an issue that has made Storyline unusable to me using iMac M1 and Windows 11. No resolution after several months.

Nope
Hey everyone - Has anyone tried using VMWare vs Parallels? https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-Fusion-Documents/Running-Fusion-on-an-Intel-Mac-and-upgrading-to-an-M1-M2-Mac/tac-p/2943782
I've always been a Parallels go with zero experience using VMWare. I assume the issues are Windows 11 ARM related, but I thought I'd ask.
