audio not importing with powerpoint files

Individual slide audio should be imported, but playlists will not as they are not supported within Storyline. 

You'll also want to confirm the following regarding your PowerPoint and Storyline files:

• Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior. 
• You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
• Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.
• That the PPTA file is located in the same folder as the PowerPoint file.  Otherwise, Storyline will be able to import only the PowerPoint slides but not the corresponding Articulate Presenter resources. (Articulate Presenter does not need to be installed to import PowerPoint / Presenter content.)

Let's see what's going on! When importing a PowerPoint project with audio to Storyline 360, I recommend starting a new project.

In this case, these are the steps I would try:

• Choose New Project when first opening Storyline 360. This should open to Story View.
• Click the File tab at the top left-hand corner. Choose Import and then PowerPoint.
• After the slides load, you'll need to click the "Import" button which will be next to Cancel.
• From here, you should be able to Preview the course and hear the audio!

Hi, Denise. Appreciate you giving those steps a try, and you're right! The steps Lauren shared are the same for any version of Storyline.

Let's dig a bit deeper:

• What version of Storyline 2 and PowerPoint are you using?
• Is this happening with any PowerPoint file or a particular one?
• Are you comfortable with sharing a troublesome file for testing? You can attach it publicly here or send it privately by using this upload link. I'll import it into Storyline 2 and let you know what I find!

We'd also love an answer here. We've tried both SL360 and working in Presenter 360 within PowerPoint--we can't get any audio to come through when importing in SL or when working in the ribbon in Presenter.

We have the same problem: The audio files in PowerPoint did not import to storyline 360. How did you resolve this issue? 

We installed the most recent updates of Articulate 360 and used both PowerPoint 2019 and PowerPoint 365.
