Hello, when the module is launched there is a "play" button that you have to click to launch the module, is there a way to launch the module automatically in chrome?
This was added due to Chrome's security settings. Chrome requires that users interact with the web page before it will allow media to play automatically. So, unfortunately, this is a browser requirement.
That being said, you don't have to use the "Click the play button" default. You can instead design any other interaction that requires user involvement to start the course. For example, "Choose your avatar and drag it to the door to enter the course"....
Can you provide an example of how you are getting this to work? Don't you have to click the play button just to get to the place where someone could click and drag an avatar? Can you provide a bit more insight?
Hi Positive Results and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊
The play button displays when you have audio or video on the first slide.
Owen's suggestion adds an additional 'first' slide without audio or video which provides user interactivity so that your content will then auto-play if that's how it's set.
This discussion resolved the issue to not have the play button but the audio on the second slide still does not beginning. did you have the same issue?
Thanks for reaching out! If I understood correctly, you would like the audio on the second slide to play automatically once the slide loads. Does adding a trigger on the second slide like the one below help?
Most modern browsers prevent the autoplaying of audio files on websites. In Google Chrome for example, the Autoplay Policy launched in Chrome 66 for audio and video elements and is responsible for preventing audio files from automatically playing on websites that you haven't interacted with. You can read about the policy here.
You'll need to interact with your course at least once first before the browser allows your audio file to play. Here's a redesigned version of your course with an interaction added at the start so you can see how having the interaction will affect the playing of your audio files. To fix the issue, try placing a start button at the beginning of the course.
Thanks for reaching out! If your first slide has audio, you'll see that play button with the black background in Google Chrome. We added that feature to help learners get around Chrome's autoplay policy for audio.
This includes published Storyline projects with the background audio enabled. The same behavior can also be observed in Microsoft Edge, which uses the same Chromium engine as Chrome.
Regarding your question about avoiding it, the play button will always be there if your Storyline project has background audio, but you can change the black background. Customize the play button screen by adding a course cover photo. This is how it will look on a Storyline course published in Review 360. I used the first slide as a cover photo.
Let me know if you have questions, and I'll be more than happy to assist further.

I got the result expected with this solution.
Hi all. We need audio on the first slide for visually impaired people. How can we do that?
I added blank slide in the beginning and set trigger "jump to next slide when timeline starts" on it.

If the audio file still does not play automatically, can you share your Storyline file with us so we can look at what you have set up? You may also share it with us privately by sending it along here.
Hello Eric thanks for the help, but it still does not work. only in previews inside storyline.
Heres my storyline file

Yes, this is the best solution.
How can you avoid the Black bare Play screen if you are using the Background Audio feature (not adding audio to each slide?
