Bullet Indentation Woes

Jun 07, 2021

When constructing a bullet list in Storyline, changing the bullet style of an item in the list creates additional, unwanted indentation on that and subsequent lines. The main effect is that the bullet remains inline, but the following text is spaced further than the previous lines.

It appears that the program automatically adds .19" of indent and hanging indent whenever you create a bullet, but repeats this indent when you adjust a bullet, regardless of existing indent. As such, each subsequent indent becomes .38". This only occurs once and does not become .57" on a subsequent edit.

Not a huge deal, but a real pain. Is there a preference I'm missing, or is this a strange behavior inherent to Storyline? I've noticed this since I started using Storyline over two years ago.

Hello Dana!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I've tested this behavior in Storyline 360 (Build 3.52.25156.0) and I see the same with the added intent when changing the bullet style. I'm going to log this as a software bug so we can begin tracking the behavior.

I'll keep you updated with the progress in this discussion! I appreciate you taking the time to report this to us.

Hi, Dana and Lerissa.

I just wanted to share that we are no longer seeing the bug reported where using bullet points other than a standard circle shape adds additional indentation using the latest build of Storyline (3.61.27106.0).

If you're using the latest version and you're still experiencing this issue, please reach out to our support team through a case
