Hanging indent isn't hanging (Storyline 360)

In the Paragraph dialog box in Storyline 360 (v3.94.33511.0), the hanging indent setting isn't working as I'd expect.

When I set a hanging indent, Storyline just seems to change the tab width, instead of indenting all lines except for the first line:

My question is:
What settings should I choose to indent a paragraph as shown in the shot below?

Please see attached Storyline file.

Also, are the settings (such as Special) in the Paragraph dialog box documented anywhere? When you click the LEARN MORE... link at the bottom of the dialog, you're taken to a page that doesn't actually tell you how to use the dialog box.

My context is: When I set a hanging indent in Word, all lines of the paragraph except for the 1st line are indented:

  • Hanging text requires 2 adjustments. First, you need to indent the overall paragraph, which is done with the "Before text" setting. Then indicate how much the first line should hang.

Note: Text can't hang beyond the left border of the text box. That's why it looks like a standard left-aligned paragraph if you indicate how much to hang text but don't indicate the overall indentation.

  • Hi Craig,

I created paragraphs in text boxes in Storyline. After applying a hanging indent to the paragraphs' properties, I saw no change in the paragraphs whatsoever. Clicking back on the paragraph properties window shows that the hanging indent is still selected in the options, so I effectively altered the options, but no change is visible in the text.

Thanks Judy! (It would certainly help if that info was included on the Help page for the dialog box, as the page currently isn't very helpful at all!)
