Changing Speed of Audio in Articulate Storyline?

According to the Feature Roadmap, this is in development!
"Course Playback Speed Control - Let learners explore at their own pace by choosing a course playback speed between 0.25x and 2x."

Yesterday, I was upvoting a bunch of posts on this topic...only to discover the feature is under development! 👏

This feature is much needed.  Hoping it's soon, please.

Hello Everyone!

I'm happy to share that we have released Storyline 360 version 72 (Build 3.72.29654.0).

Included in this release is a new feature where you can let learners explore at their own pace by choosing a course playback speed between 0.25x and 2x.

Now all you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

nice new feature, but is it intentional that the classic player is not supported?

there is nothing about this in the release notes, perhaps the restriction should be added

This is truly disappointing to see you are only making it for the modern player.  My organization has its reasons and prefers us to use the Classic player.  I have written this comment before that you really need to be treating the players equally, unless you are going to do away with the Classic player than you should be advising your customers now.  This has happened before with some new features and is very frustrating when I report to my boss the feature is now available then read the fine print.  Truly disappointed and hope there are enough of us out there that only use the Classic player that you would start supporting us as well.  Sorry if I sound frustrated, but I am this time around.  Was really excited this feature finally arrived.  Sadly, if features keep being done for only part of your product you may lose us as a customer if we can get our needs met...sad...

I don't want to waste the engineer's time by submitting a case when I do not have one--so just a quick question:


Should everyone have access to this feature if they are up-to-date on Articulate Storyline 360 updates?

If, so --I do not have this feature and I will reach out to the Support Engineers.

@Laura do note if you are like me and your organization uses the classic player and you are up to date in Storyline this feature is NOT available.  

Which I still would appreciate a response from a staff member from my comment above, if you are going to continue to exclude the classic player on positive enhancements.

variable playback speed is actually built into the classic player - only the button in the navigation bar is missing

with the javascript command "DS.appState.setPlaybackSpeed(n)" you can change the playback speed also in classic player
