Closed captions defaulted on but not publishing as defaulted on

Aug 19, 2022

Hi there,

I would like the CC to default on when I play the video in MP4 format.  When I set display caption value to true it will automatically play CC in preview mode.  When I publish to MP4 it won't show up.

I'm hoping there is an easy fix here?

Hi Alex,

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 73, we’ve included important fixes and new features!

One new feature we’ve included:

Boost video accessibility by including closed captions when publishing projects as MP4 video files.

To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!

Hi Alex,

Thanks for reaching out!

Closed Captions don't appear in the published output of a Storyline 360 course that is published to video format. This is because the Player elements, which includes Closed Captions, are not in included during publishing. You can check out this article for more details:

If you'd like to add Closed Captions to your Storyline 360 video file, you'll need to use a third-party application like this one.

Hope this helps!
