I'm having problems searching the forums, so I hope I'm not asking a redundant question here, but is there any way to disable the noise that Storyline inserts when you do a screen cast and have it record mouse movements. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this. Thank you!
I'm having a different FRUSTRATING issue. I have configured the mouse to Single click and to show the click effect. It does double on both audio and visual. In my demonstration, I've needed to to double-click and got the effect to work fine. but on many of the slides that I want a single click, I'm getting double and I can't seem to fix it. Anyone have any ideas for correcting this?
I'm developing a Try-me version of the simulation and I don't see a mouse cursor in the timeline. Is there a way to disable it for try-me versions too? I've inserted the file in a step-by-step mode.
Since the mouse cursor is only inserted automatically in View Mode, there is no way to adjust the click sound. You can, however, manually add a mouse cursor to any slide. Take a look at the following article:
Out if interest is there no way to set this up before you do the recording? So an option you select/deselect at the time you are doing the actual recording.
Thanks. However generally we want to insert the mouse movements but without the sound effect. So I was wondering if we could select the format of the mouse recording before doing the actual recording instead of having to format the mouse recording on each slide to remove the sound effect.
I appreciate the clarification, Leanne. This is not a feature at this time, but we do have an open feature request for more control over default mouse settings. I've added this conversation and your thoughts as we continue to track this request.
I'm having the same issue in Try Mode. When I click Mouse, the only option I receive is to change the cursor. I can't get to Format at all. I also tried to get to it on other screens with not much luck.
Thank you for reaching out! Since there are a few issues mentioned here, can you please clarify what you are trying to do?
In Try mode, the mouse must be added manually. It looks like you are in the correct place! If you scroll down to Current Theme Cursors, you can choose which mouse you would like to insert.
From there, can adjust the mouse click sound by selecting the cursor on your slide, then navigating to the Format tab on the top ribbon. There you will see the click options on the left hand side, like shown in my screenshot below.
Please let me know if you have additional questions!
Has there been an update in Storyline 360 where you can silence the mouse click for all slides at one go, rather than having to go slide-by-slide (that can get cumbersome when you have a screencast that is many slides long)?
Hi all, I found this post which is very helpful - however, my question is, how to you format for 'none' click sounds across multiple slides or a project? i.e. for all, so each slide doesn't need to be formatted individually?
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to change the "mouse click" settings globally. It has to be configured for each slide, but we do have this logged as a feature request that I've updated to reflect everyone's comments.
We'll be sure to update this discussion if this feature makes it on our feature roadmap. Currently, we are prioritizing other feature requests for our upcoming planned updates.

Hi Stephanie. Happy to help find a fix!
First, I'm having trouble recreating the double experience in Storyline 360 Update 39:
Do you see this problem in Storyline, in the published output, or both? Also, what version of Storyline are you using?

Attaching a screenshot for better clarity!

Hi Leanne,
The mouse movements are automatically recorded, which creates the screen recording.
You can choose if these display when you insert the recordings:

I wanted to share some information about how we manage these feature requests, which may be helpful.

I'm surprised this cannot be set globally across all slides. Is there no way of changing the default here?
