Is the distribute horizontally command working for everyone else? I'm trying to spread 18 arrows out evenly but when I click it it aligns all of them to the left...
Thank you Elizabeth, this is a great video explanation of how distribution generally works (with shapes)....this is how I have usually accomplished the mission.
However, after engaging in a live chat, and submitting a video of my issue, we learned that this feature is not available for arrows... they are currently working on resolving the issue.
In the mean-time, for anyone else that may be experiencing this issue, my solution was to create the arrows in powerpoint, distribute them appropriately and then copy-n-paste them in to storyline. Unfortunately that means any animation can only be applied to the group of arrows, but it works for now.
If you have multiple objects selected, you might only see the alignment icons. Here's a 10-second clip of where to find the alignment options in Storyline 360.
Thank you - I know these icons - but the distribute horizontally/vertically aligned to slide does not seem to exist anymore. Is this going to be in an update?
Not sure when, but its' been awhile now, that I can't get lines to Distribute Horizontally. Up to date on software, and lines are set to Align Selected Objects. They will Distribute Vertically, but not horizontally. It's annoying.
With the recent update, it's actually working again. I'll be sure to record it if it stops working again. It's been a strange on and off bug for awhile now.
It started doing the distribute bug again. Its a strange bug. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But once it breaks, it seems like it'll no longer work in the file (even with restarting Storyline). Here's a recording:
Hi Kirby - did you get any resolution in regard to this? I've just come across the same issue with horizontal distribution of lines simply not working.
Kirby's case helped us connect the issue to a bug reported where Line and arrow shapes drawn from right to left or bottom to top do not distribute vertically.
I've connected this discussion to the bug report, and I'll be sure to come back to update you when I have some news.
In the meantime, the current workaround is :
Flip the line vertically if drawn from bottom to top, or horizontally if drawn from right to left.

Hi Katie
is it because you have the option ticked ‘align to slide’ - if you deselect that it should align the objects selected
oh man silly me! Thanks so much
No worries - easy fix! All the best with your project :-)
Where is this checkbox you speak of?
Hey Georgina! Here's a quick Peek that shows the difference between aligning to slide and aligning to selected objects!

Hi Wendy - where is this option in SL 360?
Hi Clinton,
Take a look at the Peek 360 video that Elizabeth shared above.
My ribbon looks different - under arrange, I do not see those options when I've selected multiple objects? My software is up to date.
Hi Georgina, I don't see this option at all in SL360. Can you provide any insight here?

Hi, Clinton.
You can find those options under Home > Arrange:
You will see the checkbox within the Align options:
I hope this helps!

Hi, Kirby.
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with Distribute Horizontally!
I'm not able to reproduce this issue. Take a look below:
Can you share a .story file or a screen recording of what happens with your project when you click the alignment button?

Hi, Kirby.
Thank you for sharing the screen recording!
I went ahead and opened a support case on your behalf with our engineers. You should hear from our team soon via e-mail.

Hi, Nora.
Thank you for reaching out!
This is still an open issue with our team. We'll update this discussion when we have any news to share!
Did you try the workaround listed in my previous post?
Let me know if that works for you!
Same problem with lines - hope the bug fix comes soon ...
