Drop down menu for country list with scroll bar

Hi, I am creating a drop-down list for the countries of the world. As the list is very long, is it possible to list down all the countries in a fixed height box with scroll bar?

  • Hi Chloe,

    Happy to help!

Using a Scrolling panel, it is possible to list text in a fixed-height box with a scroll bar. Please check out the screenshot below from the attached project to quickly show what it looks like. It consists of a Scrolling panel with a textbox inside it.

To simulate a drop-down interaction with that Scrolling panel, you need to apply a workaround, as Storyline does not have a prebuilt drop-down menu. For inspiration, you can look at Nicole's post here.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.

      Dear Eric,

Good to know that I do not need to create individual buttons for all countries! Thank you for your reply with the screenshot. However, there is no attachment in your email. May I request you to share with me the project file, please? 😊

Thank you once again for your help! 😊

        Hi Chloe!

        Happy to jump in here!

It looks like Eric shared a sample .story file for your reference, attached to the bottom of his reply. I’ve attached it to my reply here for you as well!

Allow me to address your questions individually:

        1. A Sequence Drop-Down question slide can be used since you are working with a drop-down menu of different countries.
        2. I suggest using a Multiple-Choice slide for this type of design. Also, if you’re working with an LMS, Storyline will send the learner's answers to your LMS for review!
        3. Approval of posts before they appear in a forum, cannot be built natively within Storyline 360. I'll defer this question to our community who may be able to share suggestions with you! However, in the meantime, I found a website that offers a free service for building custom forums. Hope this helps!

Also, it looks like part of your e-mail signature came through when you replied via e-mail. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response.

Please let me know if you have any more questions!
