Error about PowerPoint uploading

Dear Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

It's my first day with StoryLine 360 and I have an error message when I try to upload a powerpoint :

It says : PowerPoint slide deck upload failed
The slide deck xxx cannot be upload. Discover why here

I went to the web page to discover why it doesn't work but any of those points concerned my problem. One of my colleage use StoryLine and don't have this problem when he tries to upload the same powerpoint.

Please can you help ?

Best Regards,

Yoann Palumbo

  • Hi Yoann! Try making a copy of the pptx file. Open the pptx file on Powerpoint, Save as, then choose "PowerPoint Presentation (*.pptx)" and click "Save". Try importing the newly saved pptx file into Storyline 360.

If you are still having the same issue, can you share the web page link that was shown in the error message? Also, what version of Powerpoint did you use to save the file?

Let me know how it goes!

  • Hi, Yoann.

    Thank you for reaching out!

Are you using a folder that automatically syncs with OneDrive? My guess is that this could cause the same issues as working on a network drive. We recommend working from a local hard drive

Can you try copying the file to another folder on your hard drive and then importing it from within Storyline?

Let me know if this works!

    Hi Maria,

    Thanks for your anwser !

I'm using a sync folder with OneDrive. I tried to use a hard drive non-sync and my IT tried to but it doesn't fix my problem.

I also tried to uninstall/install but it doesn't work.

The only solution I found is to ask to a colleague to import my PowerPoint to his StoryLine and ask him to give me the xx.vstory but I have to ask him and wait when I want to upload a new slide in the software.

    Many thanks for your help

  • Hi Yoann!

I can see how this approach can become tedious, especially if you're building multiple slides! I'd like for our Support Engineers to help so we can work to eliminate this error message. Would you mind uploading the Articulate Package to our Support Engineers in a support case?

  • Hello,

Myself and a colleague are having the same issue and we have updated PowerPoint, Windows, and Articulate Storyline and still no success. Also, we have tried saving from OneDrive to the local drive as well as saving a copy of the PPT. Again, no success. This has been going on for 2 days now as of January 12, 2022. Please advise.
