Fade out, then visible on base layer revisit

Jul 25, 2022

Hi,

I have two buttons. When the slide originally loads, there's some text, then the buttons fly in.  When a button (say button1) is clicked, almost everything on the base layer gets hidden, a motion path moves button1 to the upper left, and a new layer loads showing relevant text.

When the user goes 'back', I want button1 to fade out and the base layer to load in a revisited state. The base layer text should load without audio, and I can get that to work. BUT, my issue is I can't get button1 to fly in on the revisit to the base layer.

I have it become hidden when going back to the base layer, so it's not in the upper left anymore. But it stays hidden on the base layer revisit. Anyone know of a better/correct way to do this? BTW, I will apply the same fix to button2 (have not added triggers to button2 yet).

Thanks!

How did you build the animation? Is it a motion path or is it an entrance animation?

If you share the slide that would help understand what you're doing.

Without seeing it, my guess is that you need to change the state of the button to normal. Based on how you animate it you can have a trigger that moves the object when the state changes or have an entrance animation that flies in which is also triggered upon the state change.

Hi Tom, thanks for the reply!

I've attached the slide. I use a motion path to move the button.

The slide is still pretty rough. Clicking the 'Hires IA' button moves it on the motion path.

Two issues:

1. I can't get the 'Hires IA' button to reset and fly in when the base layer is shown again (by clicking 'back').

2. I have a Fade exit animation for text boxes on the base layer. How can I get these to remain visible when the timeline ends? They should always be visible when the user is on the base layer, but the exit animation causes them to disappear when the timeline ends.

Thanks!
