Free form quiz - Need suggestions

Hi all,

Needed some support on a quiz question I am working on.

The quiz question is about an electrical fault where students have to identify the CT secondary directions using arrows. The correct answer is arrows in the first three boxes pointing right and arrow in the last box pointing left.

I have used a pick one drag and drop interaction with 4 arrows and it works (on slide 2.1) however my SME would like 8 arrows so that the answer is not obvious  ie. 4 arrows pointing right and 4 arrows pointing left. This doesn't work in this scenario as it's a multiple correct answer drag and drop and all correct answers are not being dropped.(slide 2.2)  Is there any workaround to this that anyone can suggest? Would a Pick Many work?

Another option is getting the participants to draw the arrows on screen but don't know if that is possible in a quiz.

There was another suggestion from the support team of using a Match drop-down. Can a matching dropdown have images?

Have attached the storyline file here.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated

  • Check Slide 3.1 for the way I would do this.

Although I will say, the text on the Incorrect layer seems to contradict this: "The correct answer is arrows in the first three boxes pointing right and arrow in the last box pointing left."

  • Hi Walt

WOW this is amazing and exactly what my SME wanted. What a brilliant idea. Thank you so so much.

Had a quick question though, will it be possible to set the attempts to 2 with the way you have done it?

Tried a couple of things but it doesn't work.

And yes realized the text on the incorrect layer is wrong. Thanks for pointing it out.

  • Sonal,

When i previewed slide 3.1, it gave me two tries, so I don't know what's wrong.

One thing I did notice is that I forgot to change the default time of the motion paths. So you have to wait two seconds before you can drag the arrow you just dropped. Setting the length to 0.1 will fix that.

  • Hi Walt,

It does give you 2 tries but on the second attempt you can't move the arrows. I tried changing the length of the motion paths as well but that doesn't work either.

    What am I doing wrong?

  • Hi Walt,

    Got it.

Unthinkingly I was trying to move the arrows that were already dragged, even though I knew its a a state. Need a strong coffee to clear the brain fog :-)

Thanks for all your help with this.

    Truly appreciated.
