Getting a report from Success factors LMS
Dec 17, 2018
We have a success factors ( SAP) LMS and we have struggled to get the reports we need from any content we have created with storyline. Our support partner have suggested that it is the content rather than the actually LMS which I am questioning but we are investigating all possibilities.
I have created a quiz and all questions link into one result slide and I need that to allow the LMS to give me all the questions with correct answers and also the answers given by the delegate in the report.
they suggested the below changes
(quote)
var FORCED_COMMIT_TIME = "60000"; //Used to force CommitData back to the LMS at the desired interval (in milliseconds). Set to 0 (zero) to not force a commit time.
var ALLOW_NONE_STANDARD = true;//Set this to false to show an error message if no SCORM or AICC API can be found - Standalone will still work fine.
New value configuration:
var FORCED_COMMIT_TIME = "0"; //Used to force CommitData back to the LMS at the desired interval (in milliseconds). Set to 0 (zero) to not force a commit time.
var ALLOW_NONE_STANDARD = false;//Set this to false to show an error message if no SCORM or AICC API can be found - Standalone will still work fine.
Please arrange for your content authoring tool to be updated so that published content doesn’t contain these issues. If you need further information from us around what the LMS supports, please let us know by replying to this ticket. (end Quote)
my question is, is there a way to have Storyline export the SCORM file with these changes already in place?
Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil,
What version of Storyline are you using? You'd need to make that change manually upon publishing, as Storyline is designed to continuously send data and updates to your LMS.
I'd love to hear more about what you would like to see regarding additional LMS publish settings if you're up for logging a feature request.
Hi Ashley, thanks for the reply. we are using 360. I am quite new to this role so learning as I go from both Articulate side and the LMS side.
So the changes I am making would they stop an LMS from updating continuously?
once I get my head around where the issue is coming from I will for sure make some recommendations if needs be. I am not sure a lack of feature is the problem yet.
I just need the LMS to give me the name of the person taking the test, the questions with the person response and the correct response. the LMS guys have set up a report to pull that information but it is not getting recognised from the content we have uploaded.
Hi there, Phil. Thanks for giving us some context about what you need. Regardless of what interval you use in the
forced_commit_time
, Storyline sends data to your LMS after every slide. The quiz data that Storyline sends includes exactly what you need.To make sure your course is communicating properly, let's try some troubleshooting steps:
Of course, we're not going to leave you stranded! If you would like help with any of those processes, let us know. We're happy to test your content, as well, if you can share your file.
Hi Crystal,
After doing some reading in the forums I discovered the debug mode yesterday and have that. I can send it will the file via the link you have provided, Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have shared the content for testing from scorm cloud but again because its all new to me I could only see that they had completed the test and couldn't see any other information.. where would I look for a question by question report?
Thanks so much for letting us know that you were able to share the file.
I see that Renz is already helping you out, so I'll link this conversation to your support case for additional insight as you continue to work together.
We are about to get success factors and in the testing phases our success factors guy told us to publish to the SCORM 2004 version 4 to get the question information. Success factors had a standard report for extracting the information which worked well for us. We are using 360. Guessing you are already publishing to 2004 but thought I would add just incase this was missed.
Always good to share those findings that may help others, Dane :) Thanks!
Hi James, thanks for adding but yes, although initially we weren't told we have been publishing to SCORM 2004 ed4.
Cheers
Phil

Do you have to import the file as a content object or content package or does it matter?
Dane, hopefully you're still available to answer this question, but did you have to do anything special in your Storyline project (other than setting it to publish SCORM 2004, 4th ed) to make sure the question data was sent to the LMS? Also, is there a reporting lag (i.e., should I wait until the next day to run the report)?
Stephen, That was all we had to do, set to 2004 4th ed. Since SF has updated to eliminate flash we are having issues with reporting again and I have not yet tested all the settings to verify what works and what doesn't.
Dane/Stephen - did either of you get your reports to work? We know that our Storyline360 course (2004 4th ed.) is communicating with the LMS as it is marking as complete, but the SCORM reports don't yield any results from the course assessment.
Hi all, I'm experiencing the same issue. I can load the SCORM 4th edition into SuccessFactors learning, course works perfectly fine but no results on the SCORM report. Does anyone have updates on this?
Hi, I have exported the course in SCORM 2004 - 4th edition and I was able to download the SCORM Exam Results report with all the answers.
