I am showing a video on a slide where there are no forward and back buttons. If the learner hovers in the upper-right corner, I want a "back" button to appear to return to the main slide.
I tried creating a button with Hidden as the initial state, but I cannot get it to appear when I hover. Do I need to add a hotspot?
Of course, if the learner does not click the button and moves the curser, I want the button to hide again.
This all seems straightforward, but I cannot get it to work. Any tips???
The trouble with the hidden state is that it isn't there, so there is nothing to hover over. Create it with a filled shape (rectangle, or circle, or whatever), then set it to 99% transparency. Your learners can't see it, but the mouse can. Then when you hover over it, it will change to its Hover state.

What Walt said, but you can go to 100 % transparency, it will work.
