I have a storyline file I created in 2020. It is located on my computer hard drive and when I try to open the file I receive a prompt that states "This project is invalid or corrupt and cannot be opened. It may have been created in an earlier version of Storyline". If memory serves it was created in SL2 or 3. I am now running 360.
Hi together, I have exactly the same problem. It seems that there is a problem with articulate. I am not able to open any of the versions. I have a deadline today so that is really not good. I tried for 2 hours without success.

the .story file (it's a zip) is broken

test, if your file is corrupt with
https://www.7-zip.org/download.html
install and mouse right-click on the .story file => test archive
if you get an error message you have to search your backup
UPDATE: if you get no error message with 7z open a support case - then it's a storyline problem
