LMS SCORM export (TinCan) not playing on iPhone
Sep 03, 2021
- I have created an activity in SL 360 and published to LMS export selecting Tin Can API. It is a complex/somewhat lengthy activity so I need users to be able to open the activity and start where they left off.
- In the LMS (Brightspace) added as a SCORM object (from Content) embedding in the LMS (not opening in new window)
- The application plays how expected on PC, laptop, and iPad but not the iphone
- I get the following message when I try on the iPhone: "MissingKeyMissing Key-Pair-ID query parameter or cookie value"
It was suggested this was due to a browser setting but everything looks okay from that end. I have tested activities before on the iPhone and everything worked...this seems to be a recent problem.
Anyone else experience this, any ideas on what to try?
Thanks very much!!
Jen

I have done a bit more testing and it seems to be related to using the embedded player. If I open in a new window everything works as expected on the iPhone.
I would still like to know what's going on but in the interim I will just set to open in a new window.

Hi, Jennifer.
Thank you for reaching out and for the additional details!
I'd start by uploading the project to SCORM Cloud and testing it using an iOS device to rule out LMS issues. Check out this step-by-step article!
If it works as expected in SCORM Cloud, I would advise you to reach out to your LMS for more information, as it can be an issue on their end.
If you need help testing, please reach out to our support engineers through a case.
Let me know if this works!
Thank you, very helpful links. It works in SCORM cloud and when I tested on iPhone in Safari I received a "allow pop-up" from this site message. Once I did that everything worked as expected.
But within the LMS I just received the error message as indicated in my first message. I am still confused as to what this has to do with selecting to use the embedded player setting when uploading the SCORM package but I guess I am at (or beyond) my cusp of understanding. Again, it works when I choose the open in new window option.
Thanks again for you help, as always very, very helpful!
