Merge Caption Fields - SL 360 CC Editor

I am working on a Federal Government Project (Cdn) and all elearning requires closed captions. We are copying the text from a script into the Closed Captions Editor. Because of the way the system picks up the narrator, the caption fields are awfully small, and I have to delete some and then re-size the others to make the captions match what's happening on-screen.
I like the ability to delete fields, but it would be great if there was a way to merge caption fields (highlighted in the screenshot below). So far as I can tell, this is not currently an option.
Please add this to the wish-list of features for an updated CC Editor.

The captions that are being generated look about right.
Ideal guidelines are that you have no more than 45 characters on a line and no more than two lines, if you have two lines then you should try and create an inverse pyramid.
Merge would be useful in a lot of places especially if you could then merge any content as well.
