player font showing as different sizes in different browsers?

Jul 19, 2021

Hello,

I am doing final checks on a course before assigning it to users in my LMS.

My player font size is set to 100% and I have a javascript trigger set to adjust captions sizes to 175% of the player font size.

The issue is the default player font size is showing differently on Chrome and Edge. Attached are screenshots of the same full screen slide on each browser. I'm really stuck here now as the Edge is too small (the captions in particular are miniscule), but if I adjust the player size the Chrome text will be too big. The current Chrome view is exactly what I want.

Why is this happening? I had planned to release this course tomorrow so this is a very frustrating bug to unearth after months of development.

Thanks in advance,

Michelle

Hi all,

I think I have found the solution to my own problem, so I am posting it here lest it be of help to anyone else.

The solution was to modify the default font settings in the Edge browser itself. I've attached a screenshot of the settings menu, showing where it was originally set to where it now is.

The text size when viewed in Edge is then much more legible!

This was interesting to me as it didn't occur to me that the text size within the articulate course would be influenced by the browser settings itself. I just tried this when I came across this similar query through googling:

Hope this saves someone else some time!
