I am unable to publish my Storyline 360 presentation to Word. When I select the option in the publish settings, it takes all of 2 seconds and tells me it is done, but when I look at what was published there is nothing in the folder. I am able to publish to LMS and web just fine.
Is this a Articulate issue or Office issue? I had the same issue in Storyline 2 and reinstalled/fixed it and it never went away. This became my standard publishing practice for a few months and not it is happening to a colleague.
Hi Brandon! Great question and the Office Trust Center is what seems to be blocking the information from what we have seen. I would try the steps shared above and see if that works well for you too.
When attempting to publish to Word in Storyline 360 I am receiving an error saying that the file is open in another instance or that I do not have permission to do so....I completed the above mentioned steps and am still not able to publish to word. Please help.
**Updated my SL360 app after working through the listed steps above and I am able to publish to word!
I tried the steps above but I am not able to see Word Published in the designated folder. (see attached) Is there any problem with my PC? Because I am able to publish in my other PC. I have Microsoft 2007 and Word 2016 installed.
It was something we fixed in Update 8, so if you're still running into issues after installing the update mentioned here I'd want to have you work directly with our Support team.
No this time I am not getting an error message (I did when this happened with the first update). I have a coworker running a previous STL build that is able to publish successfully to Word (2016). Basically the publish happens instantaneously, with the "view document" prompt options appearing immediately. However when you go to view the document, nothing was published or appears. None of the options work and no Word doc is created.
I will add that our organization moved to Office 360 between the occurrences of this error.
I'm using SL2 and Word 2016 and am having the same problem. I tried the "Trust Center" suggestion above and that did nothing. Looks like you addressed it for 369, but what about SL2? Is SL2 being supported anymore?
I still have not received a fix. I submitted a ticket as suggested above and have not been contacted with a follow-up or fix. I assume they are still working on a solution.
Thanks, Wendy. It has some proprietary info in it so I would rather not have it for public viewing. I'll try the staff first, if they can't help I'll try reaching out to you privately.
I see you're working with Robert! He's taking a look at your examples and the issue and will continue to work with you in the case. Let me or Robert know if you need anything else!

Hey Emily, thanks for reaching out! I was able to publish your project to Word, and I attached the document here.
What version of Microsoft Office is installed on your computer?
If you've got 2010 or later, double check that you don't have custom File Block Settings enabled:
Let me know if that works!

Well that was fast Amy :) Glad you were able to find what you needed and it's working well for you now. Thanks for the update.
Hello,
I tried the steps above but I am not able to see Word Published in the designated folder. (see attached)

I have Microsoft 2007 and Word 2016 installed.
Any advice.
Thanks.
Thanks for the screenshot, Rex! I have a few questions to help me narrow this down:
Hello Alyssa,
I have the same issue as Rex.
Settings:
Windows 7 Professional
Microsoft Word 2016
Articulate Storyline 3.10.13923.0
Publishing a newly created Storyline, changing Word Options to Defaults and the folder to Desktop didn't make any difference.
Is there anything else I should try? Thank you.
Hi Elena,

The Dec. 12th update seems to have caused an issue with this. The problem was corrected previously, but now I am unable to publish to word again.
Please advise.
Hi Christine
I'm using the latest version of SL360 and have no issue publishing to Word in Office 365 Word 2016). Which version of Word are you using?
I'm using the same version of Office as well. I have downloaded the update that was released today and am still having this issue.
Are you getting an error message or what is happening?

Have you tried Alyssa's steps in the post above to see if that makes a difference?

I am not sure but it should be, I would think. My assistant is using
Storyline 3 and doesn't have any issues when publishing to word.

Hi Bill
can you share the .story file and I'll test if I can publish it to SL2.
how do I share it? and will it be kept confidential?
If you post here in the forum it will be public - if you need to share with Articulate you can log a support ticket.
I'm just someone trying to help (not Articulate staff) but if you want to click my profile pic you can contact me directly if you want.

Sure Bill no problem - all the best for a speedy resolution.
