There is no option to resize text to fit box anymore. We can expand the box, or overflow the text. I need to shrink text to fit box . . . Please add it back:
These changes have now made it impossible to have some interactions work properly. I want a user to enter in text - simulating texting and have it appear in another field. Now the second text box can no longer expand horizontally depending on how much text is typed in originally. Text boxes should be dynamic depending on the amount of text the variable has in it.
I appreciate your feedback and understand this is causing challenges when using variables in text boxes. Have you upgraded the project text, or are you using the original settings when noticing the text box no longer expands horizontally?
Yes, I am using the upgraded text system with the little handles to change the configuration. Unfortunately, if I type too much information in my simulation, the output text just shrinks no matter what I choose for the output text field configuration. It seems to me that this worked better with the old text but I am just tying it for this new project where I want to demonstrate a new Texting feature in our corporate software.
It sounds like you've already upgraded the project text, but the previous setup was better for your workflow. You should be able to access the backup copy of the project with the original settings since that setup is a better fit.
Hi Laren, that is really not a solution. The real solution would be for Articulate to fix the code to allow the text to expand in height (like the setting says it should) when using variable text. I am already well down the path in the project and can't go to a back-up.

Hi Gerald,
I responded to a similar conversation here, but I'll share below for anyone following along:
These options are specific to text auto-fit improvements. You can read more about this setting here.
Timeline of Autofit Changes
By removing the "fit text to box" option, it causes excessive work on our part when we sometimes have more text than usual.
So, how to I UNDO the "improvements".
Hi Gerald,
Have you taken a look at the content once it's published?
We recommend using the add scroll bar feature for your learners.
Users are not going to use the scroll bar and will miss much of the content. We should have still have the shrink text option.
How can I undo the "improvement"?
You have a couple of options, Gerald.
I've explained both options in this Peek 360 video for you.
