Stop font size from changing when copying item to another slide

Maybe I am doing something to cause this, but I can't figure out what that might be.

When I copy and paste a button or an asset with multiple states, the font size changes, and I have to edit every single item to return it to the desired state.

E.g., I have a "Close" icon on the sublayers. In the hoover state, I have the word CLOSE that pops up to assist the learner. When I copy that item to another slide - the font size for "Close" changes. Always enlarges to some ridiculous size.

This happens with buttons also.

Any suggestions or fixes? As this is truly a time-waster and frustrating.

I see there was a similar problem about 10 years ago. Is the bug back?
