Thanks in advance. Like most of us, I'm working from home away from the safety of the "network backup" in the office. Which folders and files do I need to back up to be sure I can restore a complete project if my hard drive fails and I need to immediately jump to a new machine while IT does its magic.
You'll have to talk to Articulate IT to see about Storyline itself. The .story file contains everything your project needs, except for resources you link to. They (and fonts) aren't loaded until you publish.)
Storyline files should always be saved locally and then backed up to a shared server or network drive once you've closed the file. Typically the default location is within your C drive and a folder labeled My Articulate Projects.
Storyline also creates a backup or temporary site of files in the event of an autorecovery situation. Those files are stored in this folder: %Appdata%\Articulate\Storyline
They will also be labeled as *.tmp files, but you can change the file extension to *.story and open it within Storyline.
There isn't a way to change the location of the backup or temporary site of files that Storyline creates in the event of an auto-recovery situation. Those files are stored in this folder: %Appdata%\Articulate\Storyline

Hi Joseph,

Is there a way to change the location of these backup files?
Hi Michelle!
There isn't a way to change the location of the backup or temporary site of files that Storyline creates in the event of an auto-recovery situation. Those files are stored in this folder: %Appdata%\Articulate\Storyline
