Hi everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 74, we've included important fixes and new features.
One of the fixes we've included is:
Storyline 360 could crash when adding conditions to triggers or publishing to Word.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Hi Richard,
I'm sorry to hear you're unable to publish to Word! It looks like you started a case as well and my teammate, Gerald, has provided some next steps!
Let him know if they helped or if further troubleshooting is needed to be able to publish Word as expected!
I am also having this issue since the latest upgrade. It takes less than 30 seconds to finish the publishing and there is nothing in the folder. Publishes fine for everything except WORD. Any advice is welcome.
HI Sharrilyn,
Thanks for reaching out! I see that you've connected with our support team in the past regarding this issue, and you came across a bug we have reported where:
Titles with line breaks (or carriage returns) causes 'Publish to Word' to crash.
Have you checked to ensure you don't have any line breaks in your titles, or are you coming across a different error?
This is a different issue. There are no page breaks or carriage returns in the title. I checked a SL360 file I previously published in word and it has the same issue. The publish window pops up for a second and the message changes to be able to open folder or view files. There is no content in the folder.
Hi Sharrilyn!
Thank you for the extra details! Would it be possible for us to take a look at the project? You can either attach it to this discussion or share it with us privately.
It is happening with every file I have, even those where I previously published to word.
Thanks for sharing a file for review, Sharrilyn!
I'm having difficulty recreating any issues when publishing this course for Word using Storyline 360 Update 44. Here's a quick video demo, and I'm attaching the DOC file below.
As a good next step, let's try a simple software repair since multiple files are affected:
Let me know if that helps!
I am having the same issue. I publish to word, everything appears to work but the word file does not appear or open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled storyline 360 but this did not resolve it.
Allison,
When I sent my file in to Articulate to review they found " Course Titles with line breaks (or carriage returns) cause 'Publish to Word' to crash. " Copy your title into Note Pad and see if you have a line break.

Hello Allison,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing. I see that you were able to contact the support team as well and you are currently working directly with Cleo.
Hello Sharrilyn,
I appreciate you popping in to share your solution.
It looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.
This a great find and also an issue that should be addressed. Would never have found the answer without this post. Thank you so much!
This fixed my problem. Thanks so much!!
Is there an alternative for printing a hard copy of the course if your company does not use Microsoft products?
Thank you!
Hi Allison,
Thanks for reaching out about this! Currently, there isn't a way to print or publish a course without using Microsoft products in Storyline 360 without using JavaScript. Here is a post from one of our community members on how to add print to your course.
Print ANYTHING in StoryLine
I hope this helps!
Thank you

This is the exact problem (not publishing a word document of my course) I am having. I just installed the Storyline 360 but I was having this same problem with my Storyline 3.
Hi, Joanna!
I see you connected with my teammate, Mcgem, and it looks like you found a solution. If you need further assistance, please let us know!
I just met this issue today and it happened to a specific file. I solved it by rename the title as a single letter and changed the publish path just under C drive. (My original title has no line brakes)
Only change the title name or change the publish path neither works.
For reference to those who have this issue.
Same issue for me. The suggested solution did not solve my problem on any of the files I am working on.
Hi, Maggie!
Thanks for sharing your findings with the group.
Hi Rob,
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue too! I've opened a support case on your behalf so we can investigate what's going on. You'll be hearing from one of our Support Engineers soon via email.
