Hi! Is there a way to change the color of the text when it is selected? For example, if I want to change just one word in a sentence and I highlight that word, that word is highlighted with a light grey color. Is there a way that we can change that light grey color?
Thanks for reaching out! Can you specify a bit more about when and where you'd like to see this highlight color change? Are you referring to:
Text in a textbox when authoring in Storyline?
Editing text in a text entry when authoring? Or perhaps in preview/publish mode?
If you're referring to the first option, that is the default color when editing in Storyline, and it cannot be changed. Could you share a bit more about why you'd like to see a different color? I’ll be happy to pass your thoughts on to our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!
Yes, tell the product team to invert the text selection. You cannot see what text you have selecting to edit or delete when the color behind the text is dark.
1. Draw a black box shape
2. put a textbox over top and add some words.
3 select any word. Almost impossible to tell what word(s) you have selected because the selected color is not an inversed or the color of the selector as in this post (e.g. select some words in this post. The text color is inversed).
Thank you for sharing these details! I've created a feature request on your behalf and shared it with our product team. I'll keep you updated in this discussion if inverting the text selection in Storyline 360 makes it on our roadmap! I appreciate you taking the time to share how we can improve our tools.
I wanted to share my support for inverted text during selection. Please see the attached image showing how difficult it is for an author to see the text he/she selected. I've compared how this functionality compares to Adobe Captivate.
I would also appreciate the ability to change this highlight colour. In situations where you are using "Find Next" it can be difficult to spot a highlighted single character, especially for individuals with certain types of colour blindness.

Not to be rude, but if inverted text during selection is not on your roadmap, which is standard on every text application in the world...

Thank you,

I came here looking for a solution but almost three years later it still looks to be unresolved. Can the developers be given a nudge please?
I believe this really a simple change, developer-wise, but it is crucial for people dealing with localization in the SL.
