XLIFF file import

Jun 19, 2020

Hi !

I'm trying to import a translated xliff file into storyline 360, it gives me the 'congratulations' message but the content doesn't change in the slides,  what I've learnt is that the content should switch to the target language once the xliff is imported, is there some additional step I'm missing?

Hi Srinivas,

So sorry that's happening after importing the XLIFF file back into Storyline!

I’m happy to investigate. First, let me gather a few key details:

  • What Storyline 360 update are you using? Click on the Help tab, then About Storyline.
  • What translation tool did you use?
  • Are you comfortable with sharing the .story and .xliff files with us? You can use this private upload link. We'll run through the process and let you know what happens!

Hi there I am having a similar issue I have exported my Xliff file and sent to Translators most languages are fine but two of them are only translating a couple of scenes and not the entire training, when I import. I am at a loss as for all the others is worked perfectly. The two languages with issues so far are Czech and Russian. Help!

Hi Jenny!

I'm happy to work with you on this issue! Did the translating stop at the same place in the training? I didn't see this behavior during my test translating a course from English to Russian. All slides were translated properly.

Have you tried importing your course into a new Storyline course and then importing the translation?

Let me know if that does the trick!

Hello Jenny!

Thank you for the update! I don't see that we've logged this as a software bug, so I'd like our Support Engineers to step in. Do you mind sharing your project with us so we can test it on our end? You can upload it privately in a support case.

We'll begin testing as soon as we receive the file.
