Yes, there's a way to have closed captions display automatically by adjusting the variable's default value to True.
In the triggers panel, select the Manage Project Variables button (1), select Built-In (2), find the Player,DisplayCaptions variable (3). Change the default value of False (not showing them to start) to True (will show them to start).

Yes, there's a way to have closed captions display automatically by adjusting the variable's default value to True.
