Turkish captions not displaying properly.

Hi, team.

I'm currently converting some English modules into Turkish, and most of the captions are not displaying correctly:

The correct characters are there in the source file (first screenshot), but when published onto the LMS, some characters are omitted (second screenshot).

Is there a way to fix this?

  • Hello Jan,

I'm happy to help! What LMS are you using for your course? Have you tried testing your course in a different LMS to confirm if the behavior you're experiencing is specific to your LMS? SCORM Cloud is a great environment that you can use for this purpose. Here's how to test your course on this platform:

If the captions are also not displaying correctly in SCORM Cloud, would you be willing to upload a copy of your Storyline project file here or privately by opening a support case so we can look at it? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

  • Hi Jan,

The issue could be due to your Storyline Player font settings. Some fonts (like Arial) might not display the extra characters required for Turkish.

Check the current player font settings for Closed Captions, and change those to the default Open Sans font.

Player > Colors & Effects > Closed Captions > Font: Open Sans

    This should solve your issue.
