.ASPX Files Now Download Instead of Launching from SharePoint
Hi HayleyNewbery,
Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear you're running into this issue!
Is this happening with one specific course or multiple courses from 2024? If you'd like to share your file with one of our Support Engineers, you can connect with them in a support case. They'll be happy to take a closer look to resolve your issue or point you in the right direction. We'll delete any files from our systems once troubleshooting is complete.
Hi Kelly
I reached out to Support with a support case and they merely said it's a Microsoft problem and they couldn't resolve it.

Hi IraBrown-57cd02, I got a similar response stating that they don't support the HTML to ASPX approach. I did however find a workaround by using my OneDrive online account and giving access to those in my company that needed it. I'm not sure if you use OneDrive but that could also work for you if so!

That sounds interesting - we use OneDrive. How did you save it?

We published it as a web object, then selected zip file, copied it into a non-zipped file that is in my OneDrive files and then changed the .html to .aspx. When I went to my OneDrive online, I clicked the story file and it opened in a browser as it used to do when I uploaded to Sharepoint. Once I gave my colleagues access to my personal OneDrive file that contained the story file then they were also able to view it in the browser. I have no clue why this works, but it is my approach for now!

Thanks for the response Hayley. I think the problem we have is making things like our ASPX files available for all audiences for which our org has a very different structure. The ASPX doesn't from OneDrive for me as the SP site doesn't connect to the OD link

Ah I'm sorry this workaround won't work for you. Hopefully someone comes up with a more permanent solution but it sounds like it will need to be someone from the community as we aren't getting much traction otherwise.
