Downloading Documents from Storyline

I’m developing a Storyline module where the learner has to click a hyperlink to access a document before they move on. The problem is that the document comes up in a browser tab in front of the Storyline module tab, so they can’t figure out how to get back to the module. Many of the learners are not highly computer-literate, although I admit that this has confused me once or twice.

Does anyone have any genius solutions to this that they can solve?

Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out! I'd like to confirm that there is no built-in feature to automatically close the document tab and return to the Storyline module. However, you can guide learners by providing clear instructions.

    Here are some tips:

    1. Add a Text Box or Slide Note: Include a text box or slide note on the slide with the hyperlink that instructs learners to use the browser's tab navigation to return to the module. Here's an example!
    2. Practice Navigation: If possible, include a practice slide where learners can try navigating between tabs before they need to do it for real.
    3. Visual Cue: Use a visual cue, such as an arrow pointing to the browser tabs, to remind learners where to click to return to the module.
    4. Include a Reminder: At the end of the document, you could include a reminder to return to the Storyline module.

I'll open this discussion up to our talented community to share what has worked well for them!
