3.2.4 Consistent Identification (Level AA) and Storyline timelines

So I've been going through all the WCAG guidelines and was looking at

3.2.4 Consistent Identification (Level AA). I started wondering if the name of an object on the timeline is used as a text label in the page code when published.

I'll be honest I might copy and paste and button called Submit which on the next slide becomes Submit 1 and I've never bothered to correct this.

I have always tested a course with a screen reader (NVDA) and never heard it read Submit 1. It will always say Button, Submit, or Button, Continue. Have anyone here found that the name on the timeline has caused issues with accessibility?

  • Hi Aaron! I've never experienced any issues with the name of the item on the timeline causing any issues. Only problem I've ever had was of my own creation, where I forgot to change custom alt text for a button. :)
